The saddest thing about all the AI stuff is that it’s rendered the Khan Academy guy’s life’s work totally obsolete

That is fair, and it's fair to respond to his interview with that view, that's not what people are doing. The bigger issue I have is journalists and the wider community completely inserting new words and interpretations into what he said and then going on what is basically a racial rant on false information when the interview itself is publicly available .

- @ctodotnew is COMPLETELY free (all sota models, unlimited) - @opencode is available for them (opus/codex-class models like kimi 2.5, glm4.7, minimax 2.1 are available for free) - @ampcode offers $10 of Opus 4.6 usage every day (with ads). - @antigravity offers opus 4.6 access. with @google's ai pro sub -- which most students should have claimed when it was available for most of the -mber months -- or google workspace, they have pro access to this, meaning higher limits. free users have good limits too. you can also use your antigravity auth with opencode if you prefer the cli environment using the opencode-antigravity-auth plugin. - students can claim @githubeducation pack and get free access to copilot and github pro for 2 years, giving them access both in the github ui, copilot ide extension, and copilot cli. they can also use their copilot sub on opencode. - @gemini cli is free if you have a google account (everybody does) with very good limits. there's honestly no excuse regarding access. obviously it'll not be to the same extent as people in the west with their higher purchasing power, but these are still things most people can take advantage of.

When we all shout Claude, this and that Is there anyone talking about how expensive these things are to an average Nigerian And how those who want to learn cannot because of limits and cost?

I think this is where higher transparency comes in, especially when it comes to the higher offices in because of the perception already out there. If you do not show people what is going on, you leave it up to their imagination and narrative and its always somehow worse than the reality. You have to declare the conflict and remove yourself from the process itself otherwise it just does not look good.

The subject of family benefit while holding office is one that I've always struggled comprehending because it is my line of work. Let's say I become the Property Manager of Outapi Town Council where I'm from. Who is supposed to faciliate submissions to Council and Land allocations for my family members, friends and side chicks if I'm the only one that would be doing it as per the job description? Are my family members not supposed to get land, and at what point is it seen as nepotism? The way it is now is as if once one is in office, their family members shouldn't get any benefit. Even when they follow due process, the public seem to have a problem. I think Parliament needs to have that discussion and clearly define what qualifies as Nepotism, because there seems to be a grey area in public perception.
