My ten thoughts for Saturday: 1. Rory is fortunate not to play with Reed today, got a break with Burns. I bet he doesn't get that break tomorrow. 2. If he figures out how to drive in the fairway, it's game over, probably quickly. 3. If he can't, he'll shoot 71-72 today, someone will shoot 67, and it will be game on. And when leaders get sloppy but hang on for Saturdays after getting fortunate early, it's always bad news on Sunday. 4. If Reed can get into the final group within three shots, I think he'll win by sheer force of will. Rory needs to leave him behind today. When you make it 1-on-1 with Reed you're in trouble. 5. It's weird to say on a Saturday, but it feels like the first 5 holes are important today. Nightmare scenario for Rory is Reed or Rose go -3 through 4, and he's E. 6. Don't see anyone else on the leaderboard with the cojones to win besides those three. 7. I know Rory won a major in a rout years ago, but knowing what we know about him today, I just can't imagine him not making this dramatic somehow, some way. 8. I saw on the Golf Channel that McGinley also thinks this, and the next time he's wrong about competitive psychology in golf will be the first. 9. Based on some of the breaks yesterday that 90th in driving accuracy stat, that -12 on the board feels maybe three shots better than it should be. 10. All of which means the lead feels reallllly tenuous. I'm psyched to watch.

This is a real problem. I boarded priority and sat in row 2. Bins were already full with crew bags. Even though the seats aren’t domestic first class (prices are starting mimic them) bins in paid seating should be reserved for passengers in those rows so there’s no awkward effort to retrieve them from rows behind during deplane. Southwest used to be the best at operations. Bring back whomever must have retired.

Ooof. I think I’m officially done with @SouthwestAir - tell me why you charge me $75 for a priority seat and that doesn’t come with priority boarding, so now my bag doesn’t get on the plane and I’m all the way up front. Clown show.

Teaching middle school PE I am struck by a few things while watching kids play basketball on a free day; 1. Nobody knows what a travel is 2. The kids think their range 27-45 feet 3. Fouls do not exist 4. Out of bounds does not exist 5. Passing does not exist 6. Layup? Doubtful.

@Arealmfngl In 5th grade a boy in class read “orgasm” instead of “organism”. No one in the class realized what he said & if they did, didn’t know what an orgasm was. Our teacher made a HUGE deal about it right then & there, shaming him in front of the class, causing him to breakdown in tears

@CoachSwit Some of you are wild—crapping on D2 D3 & NAIA like it’s this failure instead of a different (& often better) path. Only 8% of all HS baseball players go on to play in college at all levels. Earning the opportunity to keep playing at the next level is an achievement in itself.

Radar guns don’t win games at the high school level. Spin and command do. We had a 75-mph pitcher. 75% breaking balls. Was 7–0. 1.72 ERA. Helped take us to a State championship run. The future College hitters he faced all struggled to make solid contact!

That's wild to me, I thought the move to 3B was really easy. There's nothing to do except be ready for rockets, SS has so many more responsibilities and varieties of plays to deal with. I thought playing 2B after SS was much tougher than playing 3B because reading balls off the bat was so different. How is 3B harder than SS?

The only thing I would worry about when moving a SS to 3B is whether he can hit enough (not an issue with Bo). It's a simple defensive transition down the spectrum, and an easier position in almost every way (including throwing). Less range needed, fewer responsibilities, just get that reaction time ready! Are there examples of a SS to 3B transition failing because of defense? I can't think of any...
