The judge issued an 8-year sentence but stayed it, placing him on probation instead. He will only serve prison time if he violates probation. In the #GrandpaVicha case, the defendant will serve no prison time at this moment. Judge Colfax ruled that public safety and rehabilitation are better served through probation. This reflects a pattern of prior leniency, including earlier juvenile proceedings where probation was also given. Only if probation fails could he serve the full 8 years. You can't vibe-code utopia. That's the key problem with the 'AI Abundance' narrative. The AI industry is dominated by young, male, Aspy, single, childless, 'progressive' atheists who love tech more than they love people. They think they can train AIs to deliver a utopian society for humans -- but they don't understand human nature, or history, or families, or societies. To them, 'human nature' is little more than a list of 'cognitive biases'. To them, 'human history' is little more than a catalog of oppression and irrationality. To them, 'human families' are dead weight that you escape when you leave home and move to the Bay Area. To them, 'human society' is little more than a hierarchy of founders, investors, employees, and customers. If they showed any humility about what they don't understand, and any self-awareness about their hubris, we might forgive their youthful arrogance. But, as things stand, there is no reason to trust them with any power to 'revolutionize' our entire civilization. Utopian revolutions rarely end well.

The idea: treat the physical world (atoms) like computer code (bits). Use AI + sensors to understand, predict, and control stuff automatically. Goal? Cheaper everything, tons more abundance, and robots "employed" to make life better for everyone. Like automating chores but for huge industries!
