is this just a case of bad defaults?
i reproduced this with "instant" which was the default when I opened chatgpt.
"thinking" answered correctly
Id imagine for 80% of users instant is always fine but if youre in the 20% asking more novel / difficult questions then a "thinking" default would be better
I'm typically in codex app or the terminal with claude so I don't get much exposure to gemini

tbh I send most of my ads to a small set of landing pages
BUT customizing at the ad level could actually make sense now given how easy it is to create a landing page with ai
im running this meta ad experiment and ill share the results

The best thing about building landing pages with AI is the speed at which you can deploy them there is no longer any excuse not to have a unique landing page for every winning angle you run Example here: We tested a completely new angle (going straight to PDP) Saw it was picking up spend and performing decently Took ad transcript, got AI to build a simple listicle based on the transcript and had it live within 20 mins Duplicated the original ad in same campaign and is now outspending the original ad at half the CPA Screenshot here shows total spend for each ad so far (original has been running 5 days longer than new one) but new one now spending around 3x what the original is today) Will now shut off original and and start making improvements to new landing page But I genuinely feel this is the way. Don't worry about making every funnel perfect before launching Just get it out the door quickly, see if it shows signs of life then invest more time and money

I have a few skills I use all the time (log analyzer + org search for finding relevant context ) which I think are slightly more compelling because they have custom scripts

skills is still not sitting right with me as a concept
i think it's because companies rushed to them as the next big thing as is what happens with all ai things
now everyone is their docs as skills but it's recreating all the issues (authority, up to dateness) docs solved

customer support = skill issue (no idea if that is the case here btw)
user can't find a feature
- feature is not discoverable
user thinks app is broken but they are using the product wrong
- product should be simpler
that being said there are always some users that just suck
like the ones that "accidentally" purchase twice then use the product then want a refund

the levelsio method broke my brain a bit
Previously I would have idea and then go through the process of setting up github, database providers, hosting, auth etc. took forever and was a hassle
this time I just built on my server
by the time I had an mvp all I needed to do was point cloudflare at my server
i was scraping data and at first I was wondering where I would store it until I remembered I could just keep it on the server

im quitting no more configuration hell I've gotten halfway through shipping tons of projects. I spend a few hours configuring and then never launch today is the day that ends I'll be using the @levelsio method a simple stack with minimal deps so I can focus on shipping

this is really a constraint for me to stop messing around with loads of managed db, auth, other services
kyc? I set up hetzner in like 5 min no kyc type stuff. just credit card?

Remember to configure your firewall, shell access, http ports, reverse proxy, process monitoring (probably coolify tbh) etc etc etc

making a few updates and claude says it cant access the server and I'm like "no we are on the server"

tip for the levelsio method
add -A to your ssh command to forward your local SSH agent to the server
did this so I can use git without having to set up my credentials

hetzner says my firewall is applied and I can still connect via tailscale

i mean even stricter though
deny even tailscale ssh on the hetzner firewall (while still allowing tailscale)
claude set up the firewall with just TCP 443 from cloudflare ranges and installed tailscale and I can connect still
the claude explanation is that my mac + hetzner server make outbound connections (which is why this is still allowed) to tailscale which then allows the peer to peer tunnel (my mac to the server)
am I missing anything?

btw apparently 22 ssh for tailscale isn't needed to get the tailscale connection working?
Take this with a grain of salt, cause I actually don't have anything running on this yet but here is the claude explanation
I have the firewall set up and I'm able to ssh still with just the Cloudflare rule
