@gavin_doyle_ie @SARugbymag For sure! I'm a Stormers fan, but there was absolutely no need to risk that ball being held up, legally or otherwise. 15 v 13 have composure and strike when the line is open or set up for a drop. 👍🏼 That said, I think the ref was wrong on few head contacts and big decisions.
English

@SARugbymag Should he not slam the Stormers instead for having the intelligence to take a handy drop goal right in front of the post at the death when they only needed two points to win, not six.
But when you only have hammers, everything looks like a nail, I suppose.

Nick Mallett slammed referee Christophe Ridley after the Stormers' controversial Investec Champions Cup last-16 loss to Toulon. sarugbymag.co.za/watch-referee-…

@TheTyncker @danielgallan Wages are the biggest factor. The Boks based in South Africa do well on their big contracts, but squad players in the South African franchises can make so much more overseas. Careers are short, even 2 years in Top 14 can change their lives when they bring that money back.
English

@danielgallan I guess they want to play in the best club competitions in the world.
English

@TheAthleticFC Again, poor journalists and pundits are responsible for hysteria. What happened the other night was completely normal, and a lot of those delays like quick free kicks and goal kicks were delayed by the opponents.
English

Arsenal’s approach to set-pieces dismayed Fabian Hurzeler prior to Wednesday night’s game, and the 97 minutes that followed did nothing to alter that view.
But are Mikel Arteta's side really so different to their rivals? And isn't it a sensible approach for a team chasing a league title anyway?

@RodneyTayl20471 @og_tadi @travelingflying With baby boomers, one income could often support a family, and they could get on the housing ladder much earlier. People naturally would have more children. It was expectation, now all young people are pushed hard to have careers. Not better or worse, just different times.
English

@nicbell @og_tadi @travelingflying My point is they didn't get easier, you're comparing yourselves to the babyboomer generation.
English

@nobody_BD Apartheid was wrong and destructive, obviously. But that doesn’t mean people were “fed by the government.” Yes the white folks had all the opportunities but they still had to go to work, it wasn't a grant. I’m talking about housing affordability trends, not defending that system.
English

@nicbell Racist government was feeding your white ass in 1950’s now you gotta work
English

@og_tadi @travelingflying Equality is a factor too, more women working in careers with higher education. I don't mean this in a negative way at all before anyone jumps on it. It's just a thing that changed.
English

@nicbell @travelingflying Agreed, that's partially true, but I think the bigger issue is that most people prioritise themselves, their careers, travel and enjoying life rather than building families.
English

@RodneyTayl20471 @og_tadi @travelingflying Not acting like anything, making an observation. Previous generations faced wars and other hardships. This is another kind of shift: housing has gotten much harder relative to income in most countries. Some things got easier, this didn’t. Not sure why that deserves venom.
English

@nicbell @og_tadi @travelingflying You act like you're first generation to face hardship. Get over it.
English

@og_tadi @travelingflying 1950s raising 3-4 kids was cheap now even 1 is expensive as both parents have to work to pay for a house.
English

@travelingflying They don’t want to have kids. They’ve replaced kids with dogs. Simple as that.
English

@SothoDudu @HermanMashaba Why would anyone want to be exposed to 120kph traffic? If it was a wall between a rich and poor area I'd understand the outrage but it's literally a highway. The wall will likely improve the quality of life of the drivers and residents.
English

As long as they stay behind the wall.

@ChrisExcel102 I thought it would be eMonti, this new name seems a bit random. Why do they never ask the people, what they call it?

It cost close to R200 million to change the name of the city

@sliq_liq @iamSivN @TheKiffness @elonmusk @Rolandschoeman For some people their entire platform exists for division. The types exist in all varieties. Without dividing many of these characters become irrelevant.
English

This has nothing to do with “cancel culture.” A predominantly white crowd gathered under the banner of solidarity with @TheKiffness, @elonmusk, @Rolandschoeman and others. The “f**k you Africans” display wasn’t about free speech or resistance, it revealed racial defiance and the persistence of anti Black sentiment. This wasn’t protest; it was a public expression of white supremacy
English

@CaptSpringbok Come the second half of the season when injuries pile up and you want to win URC and Europe you need a very deep squad.
English

@ropaingtarmack @scrumming_ten It's a different game when the Top14 and URC get serious later on. Then squad depth is everything.
English

@jaredwright17 The 40-26 game in 2004 tri-nations doesn't get spoken about enough.

@NoFilterRugby @AvironNews Et Bravo à Bayonne, my first time at Jean Dauger, great atmosphere. The rugby wasn't great but both teams were missing some big players. Good luck for the rest of the season.
