English

🤡🤡 Clown town.
I’m all for saving tax payers money and cutting down on bloat. Seymour who likes to portray himself as the cost cutter turns out to be just the opposite. This is pathetic!
His Ministry of Regulation costs over $20m a year to run, its expected to blow past this budget as Acts Regulatory Standards Bill requires a bank of lawyers.
Seymour replaced the Ministry of Productivity with his new shop, because it was ‘doing nothing but writing reports’ Now he has replaced it with a much more exspensive Ministry which has 4 x the staff, 93 employees with average salaries of $170,000k, which is more than other ministries.
Look at its senior staff :
Gráinne Moss: Secretary for Regulation and Chief Executive - $430k salary
It has THREE! DEPUTIES @$350k each
• Andrew Royle — Deputy Chief Executive, Policy.
• Paula Knaap — Deputy Chief Executive, Organisational Enablement
• Paul Delahunty — Deputy Chief Executive, Reviews and System Capability
So what’s it done? well it outsourced submission analysis to a company for $300,000 - something any of the shelf AI software can do for just a few hundred dollars.
It’s made changes to hairdresser regulations, garden sheds, and regulations about baking cakes.
And it’s written another report - a report on regulators - with no recommendations. Seymour says it’s a great talking point and it’s review on dog regulation was “fun”
When Seymour announced one of his coalition policies was to introduce another department of bureaucrats, to deal with the problem of REGULATION I thought it sounded like something out of Monty Pythons, but the reality is even worse.
This is Seymour’s first time in charge of a ministry, and he’s taken the opportunity to also start his own and it’s completely exposed his inexperience. No wonder Act voters are abandoning this completely unserious joke of a party.

@sdmat123 @matt_horncastle you men pensions? so we should just let all the old people live on the streets? healthcare is the biggest ticket item.
English

@nullifier69 @matt_horncastle Those things don't cost much. The big ticket item is vote buying with welfare and graft/patronage.
English

@Jamu22222 @winstonpeters because you need to contribute just like everyone else.
English

Why is super in NZ taxed? Why is extra income taxed for the over 65s ? @winstonpeters
