The Daily Mail is arguing that Andy Burnham won't have a mandate unless he calls a general election. Oddly enough, I don't remember them saying that about Truss and Sunak.

I’m just a megaphone for @OneFinanceGuy who has done most (all) of the work on the Cottrell case. He’s very modest, give him a follow.

Jenrick claims Reform is the party "for working people" while Labour is the party for "benefits street"... Reform, with a boss taking personal bungs left right and centre and not declaring them...more like the party for the criminal elite. #bbclaurak #Kuennsberg

NEW: here’s *actual* evidence that Nigel Farage’s Brexit Party is accepting foreign donations via PayPal. Dollars, yuan, Swiss francs, roubles..you name it, they’ll take it. Laundered by PayPal into British £. This *cannot* be legal, surely?? Electoral Commission MUST investigate

Prime Minister, thank you for your service over the past two years. I remain convinced that history will judge your premiership with greater fairness than many of your contemporaries have been willing to afford it. What I find impossible to forgive is not your departure, but the manner in which it was contrived. In my view, the Parliamentary Labour Party denied the wider membership its fundamental democratic right to determine your future through a leadership election. Had your opponents truly believed they commanded the confidence of the Party, they should have had the courage to place their case before the membership and abide by its judgement. I remain convinced that you would have secured a renewed mandate. Instead, the voices of ordinary members were set aside, and the consequences have been profound. Members have left the Party in droves, not simply because they supported you, but because they believe their right to be heard was deliberately denied. Trust, once squandered, is seldom restored. Despite the relentless hostility from sections of the mainstream media, I never doubted your ability to lead Labour into the next general election. You inherited immense challenges, governed in extraordinarily difficult circumstances, and sought always to act in what you believed to be the national interest. For that, you deserve both gratitude and respect. I fear the Parliamentary Labour Party has committed an act of extraordinary political folly. Rather than renewing the Party's fortunes, I believe it has sown the seeds of its own defeat. I have little confidence that the incoming leadership will command either the authority of the Party or the confidence of the country. My expectation is that the months ahead will bring mounting instability, culminating in a general election far sooner than anyone anticipates. Should that come to pass, I believe Labour will suffer a grave defeat. The responsibility for that outcome will rest not with you, nor with the membership, but with those who denied the members the democratic right to choose their own leader.

You should have fought your quarter @Keir_Starmer Very many are extremely unhappy with @andyburnham and his underhand and disloyal route to power. It won’t end well. He is damaged goods.

Turns out Keir Starmer was the last bastion. Media now going after reform with stories they have known about for years. They feel safe with lightweight Burnham and his band of gnomes. True aim ? To get the Tories back in

The UK State Pension is not a welfare benefit. You pay your National Insurance stamp throughout your working life. It’s taxable. Don’t allow the media and right wing politicians refer to it as a welfare benefit. They’re gearing up to cut it.

This is THE MOST extraordinary post I have ever read Removed from the Cabinet for leaking government secrets to the media then elected deputy leader since which wasted no time in giving your support to Burnham WE HAD FREE & FAIR ELECTIONS 2 YEARS AGO YOU’VE BETRAYED US

Protecting free and fair elections is above party politics. We all have a stake in ensuring that elections are decided by informed voters—not by bots, manipulated algorithms or foreign interference. How I want to strengthen the Elections Bill 👇🏻 mirror.co.uk/news/politics/…

The story of George Cottrell’s involvement with Nigel Farage is completely wild. He was UKIP’s head of fundraising & Farage’s closest aide when busted by feds while with Farage in US & charged with 21 counts inc money laundering, wire fraud & extortion thedailybeast.com/meet-posh-geor…

I am gravely concerned by reports of a severe deterioration in the condition of Dr. Abu Safiyah. We reiterate our demands for his release, along with all other doctors being held without charge.

The last photo of Dr. Hussam Abu Safiya, detained after refusing to abandon his colleagues and patients. In just one image, we see both the power of Palestinian humanity and the moral weakness of all those complicit in genocide. End all arms sales to Israel, now.

Russian intelligence started tracking Boris Johnson while he was an Oxford student in the 1980s. The Kremlin called him "likeable but not trustworthy," said he had "no principles" and "could be easily manipulated," The Telegraph. 1/
