Happy New Year, everyone! I wanted to take the opportunity to thank you all so much for all the love and support I have received in 2023, yet again. I don’t take this for granted at all, and appreciate every single one of you following me on this journey, every day. So, thank you! Here’s to a wonderful 2024! 🥂 2023 has been quite the ride, with three big releases I’m super proud of as well as lots of experimentation and learning behind the scenes — all alongside trying to be a good dad to my little daughter. In March, I released Klangteppich: My first series combining code and weaving (but surely not the last). It was a great opening night in Berlin with @brtmoments and lots of old and new friends. Thanks so much to @maltefr_eth, @seth and the entire team for helping me to make this possible! I’ll continue weaving Klangteppich for some collectors in 2024, already looking forward to getting back to the loom! Shown: Klangteppich #18 collected by @lemonde_2d fxhash.xyz/generative/slu… After some months of silently working on a number of things, I had my first release with @verse_works in November — together with the wonderful people from @hereandnow_exp I got the honour and extreme joy to bring to life Echo, No Resonance, a generative series accompanying a live movie by Here & Now. A one-of-a-kind experience for everyone involved, special thanks to @miminguyenmimi and @WideawakeBeets for the trust and the great collaboration! Shown: Echo, No Resonance #1 collected by @wrenchxx verse.works/exhibitions/ec… Just a few weeks after, I had the pleasure to travel to Hong Kong for a first live performance of Duet, a new audiovisual body of work that will fully unfold in 2024. For the preview performance, I was playing computer-generated music on the piano alongside live-rendered visuals and audio. Thanks to @KEFAudio and @parametaio I got the chance to do this in a great setting at a cinema in Hong Kong, with amazing sound and a fantastic team around me. I’m truly grateful for the collaboration on this series, and super happy to continue it in 2024. The idea of human-machine collaboration is a central theme in my work, and Duet is the first series where this comes to life through all generative music and visuals. I hope that many of you will get the chance to experience a Duet performance in the future — and that I, at the same time, get to meet many of you in person! Duet by @andreasrau_eu added to the fxhash 2.0 launch calendar ✅ Presented in partnership w/ @parametaio, Duet is a generative performance between improvisation and composition, precise instructions and free interpretation, synthetic and natural sounds, human and machine. It is a time-based piece where the computer becomes composer, conductor & performer all at once, generating a constant stream of sound and visuals alongside musical scores to be played by human musicians. And it is a series of unique NFTs that will be collectible on fxhash 2.0: These pieces will be stills derived from the performance, deconstructed versions of the musical scores, reminiscent of the ephemeral. A first exclusive preview of Duet will be presented by @KEFAudio and @parametaio in Hong Kong on November 28th and 29th, and made available to mint on fxhash on December 2nd as part of the 2.0 partner program. 🔗 fxhash.xyz/explore/calend…
