MARTA launches its new and improved Breeze fare payment system this Saturday, March 28, 2026. Customers will have until May 2, 2026, to get familiar with the system and switch to the payment option that works best for them. From March 28 to May 2, both the old and new Breeze systems will be active during this transition period. Riders can: • Use old Breeze cards and tickets at existing faregates and validators. Old vending machines will be turned off, and no additional fare can be added. Some old faregates will remain open, but customers should still tap if possible. • Use Breeze Mobile 2.0 at existing faregates and validators. The app is no longer available for download, and fare cannot be added. A new Breeze Mobile app will launch March 28 for Android and iOS, allowing users to manage cards and purchase fare. • Purchase new Breeze cards or tickets at new vending machines or Ride Stores (MARTA, ATL Xpress, CobbLinc, Connect Douglas, and Ride Gwinnett). • Manage and load new Breeze cards at breezecard.com. New cards are account-based, meaning fare is stored in your account, not on the card. • Tap to pay using a bank card or mobile wallet at new faregates or orange bus validators. Some gates may remain open, but tapping is encouraged. • Pay with cash on local buses (exact change required) or buy new cards/tickets at Ride Stores or vending machines. • Reduced Fare and Mobility customers can continue using stored fare on old cards. New cards will be available at Reduced Fare offices or mailed directly. If you have a new mailing address, call 404-848-5112 or email reducedfare@itsmarta.com. If you can’t use your old balance before switching, balance transfers to a new registered Breeze account will be available May 5–October 30, 2026. More details coming soon.
