TADEJ POGACAR IS DESIGNING HIS OWN EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIPS ROUTE We already know that this year’s European Championships will take place in Slovenia, but Slovenian reports suggest that the organizers also consulted Tadej Pogačar and Andrej Hauptman on the course design. With the Slovenian Cycling Federation aiming to maximize the chances of Pogačar victory, the priority was to create a demanding circuit, making a finish in Ljubljana unlikely from the outset. Among several proposed options, the Šenčur-based course was ultimately preferred. The route will feature repeated laps passing through Možjanca and continuing along a newly paved road… expected to be completed by the end of June towards Štefanja Gora. Riders will then descend past the lower station of the Krvavec gondola to Cerklje before heading back towards Preddvor, where the climb to Možjanca begins (2 km, 10,2% average with 195 m of elevation gain). ⏱️ Jonas Vingegaard climbed today the stuning Coll de Pal (14,1 km@7,3%) in 37 min 50 sec, at 22.36 km/h. It wasn't a fast ascent by today's standards probably due to wind and or/slow first part by Ineos (also finish at 1950m altitude).

Hopefully, this was a wake-up call for the peloton. Based on what we've seen in Strade Bianche and Sanremo, Pogacar is clearly even stronger than last year. Any rider/team helping him and UAE in the next races is INSANE. Mathieu included, yes.
