@TheScottMillen Small course, 60 second runs. As competitive or not as you wish it to be. Very safe and you hang with car guys for a day. Hand controls are allowed (check YouTube) “Coned” just means you hit a cone. Not a bad way to feel some Gs and get a sunburn.

@pennymacker I'm instantly intrigued! I know nothing of autocross, but I can guess what "cone" means. I have friends in nearly every sort of racing, but have never been closely involved in that sport. I have research to do!

Here we go: I was just momentarily moved to tears by the Pickleback Cheetos ad because the ridiculous black Peterbilt driving/crashing scene reminded me that the longest romantic triangle of my lifetime is over. Me, the road, & the diesel dragons I rode thereupon. Alas!

@TheScottMillen I gotta think getting in and out easily is important so I’d immediately eliminate the Alfa 4C and the Grave Digger monster truck. Maybe a compact SUV.

@pennymacker Thanks, man! You are so right on. It's nearly as exciting as it was back in '85. It's also nearly as nerve wracking. Learning hand controls is a challenge, but an enjoyable one. Now I have to make the decision of what to drive: Sedan? Sports coupe? Suv? No clutches need apply!

@TheScottMillen That sounds like great progress, and I hope it’s as thrilling as getting your license as a teen. Sucks we don’t get to choose our lives, but we get a finite number of seconds on the planet, regardless, so it’s best to appreciate as many of them as possible.

@pennymacker Still grinding away at it all. Truthfully, my complaints are few. I'll soon be able to legally drive myself around in my own vehicle, which is a far cry from driving professionally. Change is the essence of life, and it cones on its own schedule, I have learned.
