At a rally in Kentucky on Wednesday night, President Donald Trump declared that the United States had prevailed in the conflict with Iran, though he did not present detailed evidence to support the claim. “Let me just say — we won,” Trump told the crowd. “You never want to say it too early, but we won. Honestly, it was over in the first hour. But we won.” During the speech, Trump also described how the name Operation Epic Fury was chosen. According to the president, officials presented him with a list of roughly 20 possible names, but none of them stood out. “They showed me about 20 names and I was practically falling asleep reading them,” he said. “Then I saw Epic Fury and I thought, ‘That’s the one. I like that name.’”
