🚨 Cathay Pacific increases fuel surcharge again! After a doubling of fuel surcharges, they are set to increase by 34% again. And of course this is the third blow; increase in award mileage is another. Henceforth they would start pricing this every fortnight. Till March 18, the taxes for an award ticket for Hong Kong from India were Rs 6k (HKD 542). Then Rs 9k (HKD 743) and is set to be around Rs 13k. This is set to come from April 1 so if at all you need to book, do it right away.

For now their own flights (KL/AF) haven't seen any increase. Have you noticed any other sector that has seen a increase in taxes?

🚨 Air France increases taxes for award tickets It seems Air France has followed Singapore Airlines (no saver awards), Cathay Pacific (both mileage devaluation and increase in fuel surcharge) The taxes for Vietnam Airlines award flights have gone up significantly. 😬 See the sweetspot to Vietnam Taxes have gone to ~Rs 13,300 for business class and Rs 9.2k for economy What about to Japan?

🚨 Big change on X and this one hits power users. As of March 26, 2026, X Pro (TweetDeck) is no longer available on regular Premium. 👉 It’s now locked behind Premium+ only What is means: 🔸 Multi-column view 🔸 Real-time tracking 🔸 Advanced posting workflows …all moved to the highest tier. If you were using X Pro on a lower plan then you’ve likely already lost access. No transition window. Just a hard shift. 💭 Feels like X is clearly pushing serious users → Premium+ Question is: Is X Pro alone worth the upgrade cost?

@kunalsahdev No, it is not completely removed. It is there. But way to less. Mostly the high demand routes have only advantage fares.

🚨 Where are the Singapore Airlines Saver and Promo awards? Ok, let's even forget the 30% off spontaneous escapes awards. There are very few saver awards available. And fewer promo awards. Mostly it is all advantage and the useless access fares.

@PointsPro Forget saver, not even Advantage has opened for the AKL route in the peak season. Access fares are 3.25x saver.

🚨 Which is a better 50% bonus offer? Accor or Marriott? While Marriott one is (sort of) permanent from April 1, Accor one is a limited time offer till March 31. Let's say we wish to transfer 9k SQ points. We get: 1⃣ Accor: 3k points (Rs ~6450 value) 2⃣ Marriott: 4.5k points (no fixed value) So if you have some SQ points lying or nearing expiry, it is better to transfer to Accor than Marriott, unless, of course, you have a specific redemption in mind. 👍
Ashwin@PointsPro

🚨 Singapore Airlines changing transfer ratio to Marriott (up 50%) From April 1, it goes from 2:1 ratio to 4:3 ratio 👌 And the annual cap also increases to 250k points. Still not good enough (unless you have something specific in mind) but this presents a decent opportunity for BizBlack folks who wish to convert their points to Marriott also now! 🔥
