@ts_wilbury that's fair to read it as, but that's not what the post is! if you read her comments she clearly thinks he's a smart kid, it's an ungraded after school program, and she ended up getting him to engage with the material !

@pollypocketmode It’s funny but it also sort of reads like the poster is punching down and mocking the child for his niche interest. I think people are just reacting to that and wanting to defend the child from the perceived mockery.

I started teaching 4th graders graphic design at an afterschool program, and this one kid does not engage with any of the material, but he comes into class and furiously googles the Titanic for an hour every week

@pollypocketmode I really think it’s just autistic and self-conscious people feeling shame, but they shouldn’t. This kid seems cool and inquisitive. The teacher is allowed to find amusement in his behavior. Let’s all be happy and move on.
