Jordan Love has been a locked-in top 10 (top 8?) QB for a couple of seasons now. Kind of foolish at this point to think otherwise. "Top shelf stuff" is that Love has one of the strongest arms in the league along with excellent size at the position, with pretty good athleticism, too. He also takes sacks at one of the lowest rates in the league, too.

@Nate_Tice @elitetakes_ What does Jordan Love have that's "top shelf stuff" He has a nice arm but he's slow and makes bone headed throws 4 times a game

@WillyWallis @Conniefootball Last year he was playing with a broken wrist and injured knee for 2/3 of the season. And he was still our 2nd best pass rusher

@Conniefootball Great, but he’s still getting paid as a top-15 edge. Hes elite against the run. He was objectively one the least disruptive edges rushing the passer last year. Hes getting paid like 41 and needs to rush like 41. Prove it.

How can we get better today now that the draft is gone? There is no real big savings or moves: You move on from Hunter Long and Chuma Edoga, which is most likely, moves us to 15M Trade Candidate- •Walker Little is making the 5th most on our team RN, can’t move him until Training camp due to the injury of Cole Van Lanen 2027 *Big* Free agents- Armstead Hamilton Strange (getting paid) Washington (getting paid) Johnson (getting paid) Miller Where do we make room? Idk

@JAPrez757 @TFG_Football Those 3 were the only ones with consistent minutes because 3 of the picks after Hunter were on IR before the season even started. The top 3 picks combined for a total of 8 games played (basically all from Hunter.)

@TFG_Football Gladstone nailed FA to raise the floor last season. Of the draft picks he's made only Tuten, Lequint Allen, and Lane have played consistent minutes and they've been as or better than expected. If the players drafted aren't any good in a couple of years, we can re-evaluate.

The thing I don't get about Jags fans defending their process is that it's literally what Trent Baalke did and we're just over a year removed from every Jags account on this app having the clown face on it. This process, over time, consistency leads to bad drafts.
Jordan de Lugo@jordandelugo

Some common refrains I’ve heard in response to the Jaguars draft - arrogant - ignoring consensus I don’t think there is anything arrogant about an org establishing an extremely well thought out and collaborative process for scouting and evaluating talent and people …

Prospect X was on the phone with a defensive coordinator from another club, who was recruiting him as a free agent, when the Jaguars called to take him with Pick 233. He cried so hard he couldn’t talk and left Jags exec waiting in awk silence espn.com/nfl/story/_/id…

@cardiacatsbrand Milum was out for most of the season with a knee injury. Unlikely Mekari would’ve kept him on the bench if he was was healthy

@puldalpha Milum should’ve but we were paying notable contracts all across the interior. Ransaw should develop as a part-timer for now.

I think my biggest concern for the Jaguars is the combination of already being in one of the tougher cap situations and failing to draft many quality rookie contract starters the last two drafts. Aside from Travis Hunter, the only rookie contract starter Gladstone has brought in is Tuten. Ideally Pregnon, Milum, Ransaw, and Kiser start eventually, but most of them likely won’t start until close to when their contract ends. That’s not even considering whether they’re good starters. While other teams will be getting value, we’ll be paying big contracts to almost all of our starters, many of which will have to come from trades/free agency. That only works for so long.

@LedyardNFLDraft @PeterSzucs90 If he’s their guy that they like the best, and he’s going to be picked in the next 15-20 picks, why not take him at 56. He won’t be there at 81 and then you have to try and trade up for him using more picks.

@FBallAnalysisYT Decided to “draft” my own draft class this year. Made my picks after the 1st round ended and based on a consensus big board. Specifically did this to see how well I could draft compared to GMs and without knowing where players got drafted to.

I want to see how this ages over the next few years specifically for my own draft evaluations and also to see how these picks would age if I were a GM making the picks The Vikings selected Caleb Banks in the first round and Domonique Orange in the third round and I can see the vision with these players. I love the concept of getting bigger in the trenches and being the more physically dominant team For the sake of this, I will keep those selections and discuss the other selections in the top 100 At pick 51 where the Vikings selected Jake Golday I would have selected Emmanuel McNeil-Warren At picks 97 and 98 I would have selected Emmett Johnson and Sam Hecht rather than Caleb Tiernan and Jakobe Thomas The goal of this is to see how this ages over the next few years and see how these players pan out Whenever you criticize a teams selections as an analyst there’s usually a lot of pushback along the lines of “imagine thinking you know more than an NFL team” and I don’t claim to know more than anybody - I just want to see how this specifically ages over the next few years with what I personally would have done if I were in the GM’s chair

@ArePeeOh Problem is... Who is gonna run the ball? Tuten and Allen are not premier backs. These additions with the loss of ETN makes this a complete lateral move. 0 improvement.

What is your hottest take pertaining to the 2026 NFL draft? I want to revisit this in a few years and see how the takes age I’ll start: Kevin Coleman from Missouri is going to be one of the bigger steals from the class
