Someone said this: “once your kids no longer depend on you for food and survival you are left with the relationship that you cultivated or lack thereof.” I think it makes a lot of sense

@EricaStanfordMP Companies are already replacing New Zealand Middle management and Professional jobs with cheaper Indian visa holders. Please put better measures in to protect NZ workers. And this India trade deal gives away our kids jobs with unlimited graduate & post-graduate work visas. Why?

The visa created for the Indian free trade deal, predominantly for highly skilled green-list workers, will not allow for partners or children. I have immense respect for Mr Peters but I want to be clear that what he claimed in his state of the nation speech is incorrect.

@curdledSoy @Misanth23754159 Only thing is, teens get mugged on the bus for their shopping and shoes so it's only safe to shop in the CBD if you're driving.

🇮🇹 Italian PM Giorgia Meloni: “Unlike the Globalist Elites who believe the Government should ‘educate’ the people, forcing them to accept policies they never asked for, we believe in democracy. We SERVE the people, we do not rule over them.” I absolutely love this woman.

Two truths and a lie. The strategy behind the push for a social media ban. And to be fair, it’s clever. Start with two things most people agree on.
Are there are “harms” online? Sure
Should kids be left completely unsupervised online? No way Then slip in the lie. That the government should step in and create a “safe internet”. That’s the pivot. From concern to control. Because once you accept that premise, everything else follows. New powers. New regulators. New rules about what can be seen, said, shared — given you can actually get on social media platforms once age and identity verification come into play. But those so-called “truths” don’t hold up as well as they first appear. What actually counts as harm? Who decides?
How will it be defined in law?
What discretion will an Online Commissioner have? And the second “truth” only works if you buy into a pretty low view of parents.
That most are disengaged. That they can’t guide their kids. That they need the state to step in and do it for them. That’s not reality. That’s the sales pitch. So maybe it’s not two truths and a lie.
Maybe it’s two assumptions and a lie.
Or just three bad ideas. The recent inquiry into online harms should have answered these questions. It didn’t. No serious cost benefit analysis. Key expert voices sidelined.
No solid evidence that a ban would actually make kids safer. And yet, the push continues. The frustrating part is this. We already know what works. In fact we made three clear recommendations to the select committee in October last year! Parents being present and involved.
Equipping young people with digital resilience.
Enforcing laws against genuinely illegal content. That’s where the focus should be. This isn’t about dismissing risks online. It’s about pushing back on the idea that more state control is the answer. Many of you have asked how you can help. Here are three simple ways to get involved. 1. Share this email or any of our content with friends and family 2. Encourage them to sign the petition 3. Back this work with a donation We’re building real momentum. And we’re grateful to every one of you who’s part of it. As you head into the weekend, keep this in mind. We can stop this.
Parents are not the problem.
And the state doesn’t need to co-parent your children. Stay in touch. Stay in tune. See you soon.

If you're annoyed at left wing propagandists dominating New Zealand's media then the latest news will disappoint. Arch communist John Campbell takes over Radio New Zealand's Morning Report on April 13th. Tova O'Brien, who is IMHO at least as far left as Mr Campbell, takes over the TV One Breakfast show next Monday week. Mike Hosking still dominates morning radio. In Auckland, he has about 223K listeners compared to 133K for Radio NZ, The latest ratings show his numbers are steadily declining. My guess is its Hosking's strident TDS (with US correspondent Richard Arnold) that probably makes many reach for the off button. The brains trust at Radio NZ think the overly dramatic and eternally preaching Campbell might steal some of Hosking's listeners. Its shows you how out of touch they are. As for Ms O'Brien, she too was hired a few years ago to try and displace Hosking ("A more balanced Mike") but after a few months her station folded after hardly making a dent in ratings. (see chart) So how does someone so unpopular get a gig on state TV's flagship breakfast show? You know the answer. "Who will you listen to in the AM" survey done by the NZ Herald.

If Marxists believed their own rhetoric, they would either start a business to create wealth for the poor, or start a commune to share their property with each other. They do neither. Their rhetoric is a cover for envy and resentment.

The U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) has released a video ahead of Easter decrying antisemitism and calling on Catholics to “speak out clearly” against it. “The Church, mindful of the patrimony she shares with the Jews and moved not by political reasons but by the Gospel’s spiritual love, decries hatred, persecutions, displays of antisemitism directed against Jews at any time and by anyone,” Archbishop Alexander Sample of Portland, Oregon, said in a March 18 video message posted by the USCCB. “The Jewish community is attacked at a far higher rate than any other religious group in the United States,” he said. “If we Catholics, in truly living out the Gospel, are to defend religious freedom with integrity, we must clearly speak out against antisemitism.” The USCCB’s message comes less than 20 days before the Easter Triduum, during which Catholics “celebrate the central events of our faith,” Sample said. However, the archbishop said, “sadly, the celebration of Easter has at times been the occasion for outbursts of hatred and even violence against Jews.” “The guilt for the suffering of Jesus is especially great in us because we who profess to know Christ deny him with our sins,” he said, citing the Catechism of the Council of Trent, which rejects the claim, known as the myth of deicide, that the Jewish people bear the guilt for the death of Jesus, as well as the Second Vatican Council document Nostra Aetate. “Indeed, Good Friday ought to be an occasion for us to return to the Lord, not to scapegoat others,” he said, describing the myth of deicide as “a profound misunderstanding of what took place on Good Friday” and a significant source of historic and modern antisemitism. “As Catholics, we are called to walk in the truth, and so to reject the conspiracies and lies that lead to harassment and even violence against our Jewish brothers and sisters,” Sample said. Nathan Diament, executive director of public policy for the Union of Orthodox Jewish Congregations in America, welcomed Sample’s remarks, telling EWTN News: “The statement by Archbishop Sample on behalf of the USCCB could not come at a more important time with bad actors weaponizing Catholicism to spread antisemitic views.” “We are grateful for the leadership of the Church itself stating unequivocally that the Church rejects those assertions and repudiates antisemitism,” he said. The Church’s views on antisemitism recently became the center of controversy when media personality Carrie Prejean Boller was removed from the White House-sponsored Religious Liberty Commission last month for remarks she made during a hearing focused on antisemitism. The former Miss California repeatedly stated during the hearing that her Catholic faith prevented her from embracing Zionism, despite Catholic teaching that does not oppose Israel as a nation or the Jewish people. Boller also repeatedly pressed Jewish panelists on whether her views made her an antisemite. Catholic teaching does not explicitly oppose Zionism, the movement supporting Jewish self‑determination in a homeland in Israel. Ancient Israel is seen as God’s chosen people through whom God revealed himself and prepared the way for the coming of Jesus Christ. The Catholic Church universally condemns antisemitism. The Church recognizes Israel’s fundamental right to exist. ewtnnews.com/world/us/archb…

Believe it or not, this is what the Workforce and Education Committee said was too difficult to figure out. It’s not rocket science. The choice isn’t between safe kids and unsafe kids. It’s between privacy, parental rights, and freedom on one hand, and a state-controlled internet on the other.

Today, in Iran, in the middle of a war, the regime executed a 19-year-old national wrestling champion for the crime of joining January protests. 💔 After signaling to the world, including President @realDonaldTrump, that they would halt executions of protesters, the regime has done the exact opposite. Three young protesters, Saleh Mohammadi, Mehdi Ghasemi, and Saeed Davoudi, were hanged in Qom after a sham trial. Reports indicate torture. Forced confessions. No access to chosen lawyers. Closed-door proceedings. No right to appeal. I call on @GlobalAthleteHQ to stand with Iranian athletes who are being silenced, imprisoned, and executed simply for raising their voices. This is not just about sports. This is about human dignity.

@Jenny_1884 The same legislation was pushed through in New Zealand by stealth during covid lockdowns. Most of the wider New Zealand public don't even know how far the labour government went with it, but the stats show abortions after 20+ weeks are increasing rapidly.

A normal UK back in the day would never have even discussed or even considered abortion up until birth because we were run by normal compassionate people. What we need to find out is who is pushing this agenda because it seems that the whole of the Western World are following the same path. We also need to find out why they want to kill full term babies because this is not what normal civilised people do.
