President Bola Tinubu on Wednesday departed Lagos for Abuja after marking the Eid-el-Fitri, following his historic state visit to the United Kingdom. His plane left the Presidential Wing of the Murtala Mohammed International Airport at 6.44 pm. President Tinubu returned to Nigeria from the United Kingdom in the early hours of Friday and participated in the Eid-el-Fitr prayers held at Dodan Barracks. As part of his Lagos schedule, President Tinubu received 23 governors, including Ekiti State Governor Biodun Oyebanji. The President also received an EU delegation and members of the Lagos State Governance Advisory Council (GAC). Vice President Kashim Shettima also came to Lagos to brief the President on his trip to Borno State, following the recent suicide bombing. Governor of Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun and the former Governor of Ogun State, Aremo Olusegun Osoba, were at the President's residence for the departure ceremony. Others at the airport for the departure were the Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, the Deputy Governor, Obafemi Hamzat, senior government officials, and party stalwarts. Dear landlords, it's unfair to increase rent for tenants during this difficult time, and even more unfair doing this to new tenants who just pack in within a year. If u wish to increase rents, do that before giving out the house. Your tenants are also struggling to gather and pay rent. Also keep in mind that good tenants are incredibly difficult to find nowadays, if ur tenants aren't problematic don't make them leave or put up an attitude with rent increment. If anything, try reducing the rent if u can to enable them cope. Having a good tenant is far better than one who pays but causes trouble or attracts dark energy. If tenants could afford paying higher rent, do you think your house will be their first choice to begin with? The economy is hitting everyone hard, be considerate.

Do you guys know that Obasanjo and Tinubu are the only Nigerian Presidents to have been LOCKED UP? Tinubu had just spent 5 years in politics when he was declared wanted by Abacha. So he went to Alagbon in Ikoyi and surrendered. He was immediately thrown into a tiny cell with 30 others. He was granted bail by Dr Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, the Justice of the Court of Appeal (now Emir of Ilorin) after which he fled into exile. One of his cell mates was fellow pro-democracy politician and activist Senator Abu Ibrahim from Katsina state. After being granted bail, Senator Abu Ibrahim refused to leave Alagbon until Tinubu and the others who were also granted bail were released.
