The more I see of Marco Rubio as Secretary of State, the more I think he would make an amazing President of the United States. Are you guys leaning more toward Rubio or Vance in 2028?

@esjesjesj New England is 40% Republican but not a single GOP rep in all the districts they drew. In a democracy, you can trample the rights of the minorities. Everyone does it, but apparently it’s only a bad thing when it’s not Democrats doing it.

@AlexNowrasteh @scottlincicome Point taken. But can we still describe ourselves of even a common belief and behavior or have we lost that too? Life experiences in Northern VA suggest we have indeed lost that which the founders knew was so critical to hold the nation together.

@cremieuxrecueil And the map doesn’t even look that crazy, unlike the Dem maps which have to shatter cities like glass in order to outweigh all the outlying areas

Without Section 2 of the Voting Rights Act, Tennessee might redistrict so its least Republican-leaning district is R+21.

@marceelias Virginians can vote for their preferred candidates, as long as they prefer the right candidates — which will be Democrats. An absolute mockery of the law and stain on the VA state government.

Today's VRA decision is intellectually dishonest and wrong. The conservatives basically said: Black people can vote for their preferred candidates, as long as they prefer the right candidates -- which will be Republicans. An absolutely mockery of the law and stain on the court.

Probably the best state in the country in large part due to transplants to the moderately liberal cities and the liberal college towns. Places like Lumberton aren’t the reason North Carolina is great
Cathey JD🌻@Rational119

@nypost From the mountains to the coast, North Carolina is turning into a transplanted, liberal cesspit. They are ruining every single town in our once beautiful state.

Thanks for bringing this to our attention: As it turns out, our heavily indebted government spent $435 million on the healthcare of a foreign country. In exchange, we got nothing. With $435 million, we could have: - Established a national lithium mining supply chain - cover healthcare premiums for Medicaid for 87,000 Americans - housed ~24,000 homeless people - full SNAP benefits for 190,000 Americans - College scholarships for 40,000 Americans at in state schools - Paid off $435 million in interest - Reduced the tax burden by $435 million Instead, we gave it in healthcare aid to Zambia, which undoubtedly saved lives in Zambia although apparently at the expense of lives elsewhere, notably the United States. With that soft power in Zambia, the United States got: - Zambia to accept payments in Yuan for critical minerals -???? If we’re truly concerned about saving lives, call the Church. The government is not meant to operate out of the kindness of its own heart on our dime, certainly not to foreign citizens, and certainly not for nothing in return. A quick examination into the facts of this case have confirmed that, while tragic in the immediate term, the decision to obliterate USAID programs like this (also assuming there is no waste or fraud, which is a tall assumption) was and remains the correct decision.

In case anyone isn’t aware, Trump is demanding Zambia to hand over its mineral rights by end of day tomorrow or the U.S. gov’t will cut off the country’s access to the AIDS medications that are literally keeping its citizens alive. Just thought y’all should know.

@AlexanderPayton When the VA admin changed, almost all the advantages of being in VA as a resident or business vanished nearly overnight. Part of that pain could be healed by cheap liquor from the Pentagon City Costco. It’s time to resquare DC. THE SQUARE DEAL.

They say we have to protect DREAMERS They say we can’t separate families They say we can’t deport children Which is it? Can’t do border security, much less mass deportations, without violating at least one of these mutually exclusive goals. As always, they’re all talk and virtue signaling but trying to sell an intellectually bankrupt point of view.

@noahforkansas Dreamers need to go and come back and do it the right way. How about protect American citizens first? What happened to that. No carve outs

Strong borders and humane treatment aren't opposites. We can deport violent criminals and protect DREAMers. We can use smart technology at the border and also fix a broken immigration court system. The politicians screaming at you that it's one or the other are using this issue to keep you scared and divided. I won't do that.
