Getting out of my @Tesla
A lady just stopped me in the parking lot.
Her: Excuse me, you know we’re supposed to be boycotting Tesla?
Me: Why?
Her: Ethics
Me: Excuse me?
Her: You know, Elon and all the stuff he’s doing?
Me: What does that have to do with Tesla?
Her: He owns it.
Me: No he doesn’t, it’s a publicity traded company.
Her: Oh (looking confused)…
Me: Yeah, you can buy a share, I can buy a share. The Board of Directors represents us.
Her: What as that term you used?
Me: Publicly Traded Company
Her: (types it into her phone). Thank you.
(Realizing she has no idea what she’s talking about, quickly walks away)
You can’t fix stupid!

English

@RobinhoodApp Loved the presentation.
@vladtenev is there a plan to offer business banking or business credit cards?
English

And final boarding has now ended for Robinhood Air.
Thank you for taking part in our Take Flight event and we’ll see you at our next one.

@dig_deeper1 Unless you are at the property long enough to make that money back from monthly cashflow savings
English

Buy down rate gets you this low rate but you have to pay for it up front which it gets sandwiched in in the closing costs and sometimes can financed into the mortgage but then you’ll end up paying for it more expensive.
Kaz Nejatian@nejatian
We’ve rate locked 4.99% mortgage on Opendoor homes for buyers. The product is in beta still. We have a lot to learn. Going well. Very early days.

@failuntiluwin @IRSnews @IRStaxpros Ridiculous man. They are more than happy to keep our money but we can’t keep our money
English

The @IRSnews @IRStaxpros penalizes me for being 1 day late filing my taxes.
I have not received my tax refund after 8 months….the refund is significant and I won’t receive interest with it.
Thinking this should be illegal and want to sue them. Thoughts?

@BeardedBlevins If you don’t have a Tesla with FSD. I highly recommend it. It’s unbelievable. Not to mention the time savings, stress reduction.

This guy is starting his presidential campaign. Every decision seems to be the right one!

This was a great move by Jack Hughes to have Tage Thompson join in his pre game Olympic ceremony

@Michael_J_New @SouthwestAir This is ridiculous. I used to consider them a premium airline just because of the ease of booking and flight experience. Now it’s ass
English

.@SouthwestAir customers (especially if you are A-list or A-list preferred). Keep up the pressure on social media
Negative comments about the end of open seating have been trending on X (Twitter) for weeks.
I am sure @SouthwestAir is taking notice.

Been trying to get ahold of @Hertz at MCO but says “user busy”
The main line can’t help me. So what do I do?!
English

@JerseyGirlTrae @SouthwestAir @reibrian5 0. Corporate will never fix this. This policy change was driven by an activist investor group that bought a 16% share in SWA then stacked the board. Then immediately delineated their share to 9% cuz they knew the fallout was coming
English

Okay @SouthwestAir your new system is really annoying.
I have my wife, me, and our 20 month old child flying tomorrow. After check in you have me in the middle exit row and her with our baby in the middle seat behind.
Children are not allowed in the exit row and since we are both middle seat it’s nearly impossible to share the baby anyway. Your system knew we had the baby. Upon trying to upgrade our seats, no seats are available for 2 next to one another. Ridiculous and after this you may have lost our business. I have ONLY ever flown with you and I have terrible anxiety flying. Previously you guys were the best. But after this, along with fees for EVERYTHING such as bag fees. I might be forced to choose another airline.
English

@AB8TN @SouthwestAir Well we have to pay extra to select what we want now
English

@reibrian5 @SouthwestAir Did you select your seats or did the reservation system chose them for you?
I’ve never had a problem when I select the seat I want to sit in.
English

@Kirk1943 @SouthwestAir Quality of the flight and in flight actual customer service is still great.
Just the front end is now terrible
English

@reibrian5 @SouthwestAir I just flew from Ohio to Las Vegas to Kona Hawaii all went well I paid for the extra leg room seats that I wanted.
English

@reibrian5 @SouthwestAir Flying them tomorrow only because I have a free flight. It sucks to look for other options after flying with them and being so happy for so many years.

Southwest’s change is the death of the company.
I was a top .1% user for 5 years (literally flew so much I got companion pass in 2022).
The thing is, Southwest misunderstood what their actual moat was.
It wasn’t cheap flights though that worked.
It wasn’t no seat assignments, though that again was a positive as well.
Their moat was that they were the only airline that you could book a flight in 5 clicks if you had an account.
Because of the simplicity of their offering and the operation, you could avoid the confusing bullshit that you had to deal with with all other airlines—which tier, which seat, which status, which flight insurance, which bag fee…etc
They, the southwest leaders, confused their win as low cost—it wasn’t it was ease of use.
And it’s gone—now they’re just like everyone else, but they have no experience being like everyone else—so they’re actually not just like everyone else, they’re the worst of the rest.
I have booked 6 flights since the change that would have been a no brainer southwest for me in the past—each one I’ve booked Alaska.
Because now, Southwest is only competing on price and flight options.
I used to be happy to pick slightly worse flights for the simple fact that I had nothing to think about to accomplish it—now, I am forced to only judge them on the same things that all other airlines compete on.
And they’re gonna lose.
James Dyson famously said. “Be different, for the sake of it.”
We literally call it product differentiation.
Southwest was the only airline that was different—and they were the only airline that was profitable for 44 straight years (until COVID).
And they gave that advantage away on purpose—Herb Kelleher is rolling over in his grave.
Mark my words—in 5 years this is going to go down as the greatest fumble in modern corporate history—they don’t even have the excuse of failure to adapt to a new technology like Kodak or Xerox, they intentionally did this to themselves.
