@regina_ham @mgreenberg512 Of course not. People are terrible... But seriously. Why even put your opinion out there? Why do you feel the need to even spark the fire? It's weird to me that people feel the need to tell us about their "conflicts".

@repTILLYan @mgreenberg512 People are allowed to be conflicted. Two things can be true and we can hold space for both. I am the one on social media saying what I’m gonna say but that still doesn’t warrant people hoping that I die and I should go kill myself.🤷🏻‍♀️

After being called a "pussy" and "a broad", here are my thoughts: I have a hard time cheering for the USMNT, especially with the country under Trump. Yes, I'm AWARE it's not "all of them". Knowing this administration, they'll try to use them as pawns if they win, and THAT I hate.

@repTILLYan @RaysForeverHome The Packers are Green Bay's team because they are publicly owned. The Rays, however, are not our team because they have private ownership. The owners are responsible for ensuring that they have a place to play. That's not the taxpayer's responsibility.

It would cost every citizen of Tampa roughly $400 total to find the Tampa part of the stadium. it's a 30 year lease. So less than $15/ year per person. People are out there acting like people are losing their livlihoods over this. #RaysUp @RaysForeverHome

BREAKING! Tampa City Council Chair Alan Clendenin explains how the CRA vote delay is NOT a negative development! In fact he’s very optimistic negotiations are going well behind the scenes and he believes the @Raysbaseball deal will get done! youtu.be/BT0XPVN_mMU

@Weissy53 Point and Kuch being invisible and Hedman being out all contributed... But the seeding system is in play here. Bolts have played great teams in the last 4 first rounds. Because of Betmans dumb seeding system.

The Lightning had the coach of the year, the goalie of the year, and the MVP but still didn't win a round. So... the roster still had flaws. The Holmberg injury played a sneaky big role, but your season shouldn't come down to Pontus Holmberg's availability! Big summer ahead 🤷‍♂️

@regina_ham @mgreenberg512 I mean in fairness. YOU are the one on social media telling everyone you aren't sure you can support our National Team based on politics. That sorta makes you sound like the angry one... And I am not even close to a fan of Trump.

@repTILLYan @RaysForeverHome I don't want to give 1 cent of my money to a welfare scheme for the rich. Pro teams are private entities and use to build their own stadiums. Let's bring back the glory days.

@repTILLYan @redhart171 @RaysForeverHome Then have the team front that money and the city can pay them back as those revenues are collected, since it’s such a sure thing. Fair?

@StadiumShadow We don't disagree here. If that part, or even a reasonably smaller number were in writing, would that change your position? (I appreciate the dialog btw).

@repTILLYan I don’t know how many different cities need to get burned before people take this stuff seriously… but if the entire financial justification for your $2B subsidy is another $10B in development… Don’t you think it would be worth getting some of that in writing?

Babby preaches "the halo effect." Except new research confirms what old research had previously found: stadiums' halo effects are often negative, stealing economy from surrounding neighborhoods instead of bolstering them.
WUSF@wusf

Board members of the redevelopment agency told him they don't want all the future money going to the team. He said the larger community would benefit from what is called the "halo effect." wusf.org/sports/2026-06…

@invwh @redhart171 @RaysForeverHome No. They are driving their cars a much shorter distance and many (1000's actually) will now be within walking distance. The tax revenue will come from the wealthy condos and businesses being built in the development. Right now that parking lot makes ZERO.

@dajaz027 Wait? What? How so? They have told the truth in good faith. Stu never acted in good faith and used a Hurricane to try and milk more money. He literally bailed on a signed deal. The new group poured millions of their own money into the Trop even though they had no obligation to.

Troy White - I said what I said
If Jeff Vinik was the owner....who has earned good will....I might agree. But this new Rays ownership is following the same blueprint as Stew.
FloridaSports - Team Apparel Co.@repTILLYan

@dajaz027 They "can", but some city will do it. and this will raise MORE money for infrastructure. I don't understand how people are refusing to actually educate themselves on the deal. Tamps loses in multiple ways if they let the Rays leave. Oh...and Go Gators!

@CarlLND @RaysForeverHome I was just saying that is theoretically what the $180M equals per person for 30 years. They are using existing sources though and are not raising taxes. So it technically costs ZERO dollars. And the city will profit. Win/Win

@repTILLYan @RaysForeverHome I’ll be honest, I don’t think they know even know a new stadium is being proposed, LOL. But I thought you just said it would cost every taxpayer in Hillsborough $400 over the lifetime of the stadium? So which is it? Are taxpayers funding a portion of the stadium or is this free?

@CarlLND @RaysForeverHome Because your grandma and aunt haven't been told the truth. Especially if they read the Times. This won't cost them a penny. Their taxes aren't going up one penny, and the city gets back a huge return. Have you actually read the details?

@repTILLYan @RaysForeverHome I can tell you right now—my 92 year old Haitian grandma and 52 year old aunt in Wesley Chapel dont want to donate a SINGLE penny for a baseball stadium, let alone hundreds. If this was put to a vote, the majority of voters would absolutely say “no.”
