@spaikin @TheAgenda Steve, having had the privilege of having you as a defence partner and winning an over 50 hockey tournament many years ago, watching this final episode of the Agenda surpassed that thrill. As a dedicated fan who has been enriched by this program for 19 years,thank-you & your team.

The last ever guest of @TheAgenda is on right now. It’s my dad, Larry Paikin.

This is the FIRST sound I hear when it wakes me up. It’s the LAST sound I hear before I fall asleep. All day. All night. Every few minutes. It’s so loud — indoors even — it drowns out a TV or phone call.

There's a thriving wasp colony on our back patio. I am trying to convince @buttonslives to let me apply my expertise as a wasp biologist to transfer it to an special container to make it an indoor observational hive. She's not too keen on the idea. What does Twitter think?

@juscallmekirsty So many people in positions of authority have lost the plot. Same for many professional organizations lead by these people.

@alexthechick The corollary is also true. There is strong evidence to suggest that as humans we are often too quick to attribute good outcomes to something we actively did when in reality it was just good luck or happenstance or whatever you wish to call it. Great thread btw!

Every awful thing that happens in this world does not occur because your policy position wasn't followed. Tragedies happen. They do. Trying to force a tragic event into your policy position is a human impulse. It's also a rejection of reality. /fin

Story time and there's a point to this in addition to my loving the sound of my own typing. When I worked for the Psychopaths we had an awful case come in and, remember, we dealt with significant personal injury cases so awful is a really high bar here. Here's why it was awful.

@namshine @metromorning @marywiens I just heard the same interview and I was floored when the homeless gentlemen emphatically stated that there were too many people with mental health issues exhibiting erratic behaviour on the TTC & that he didn’t feel safe. TTC is beginning to stand for Take The Car.

An illuminating conversation @metromorning @marywiens with 2 unhoused people is a must listen. How they ended up on the street, how difficult it is to access warming centres, how they are also afraid of people on TTC & how "it's unfair" to be asked to get off trains by police.

Is there no english word for **something that cannot be owned by anyone**? The best approximation I've found is "intangible," — but that doesn’t quite nail it.
