I’m hearing some talk about lack of attendance at the Classic. I’ll talk about it on a Bilge soon but very few people in my non-fishing circle in DFW knew about the event. Very few. And many were the very demographic you have a chance to get to the expo / arena. DFW is a major media market. To touch people hard enough to get their attention, requires production of a real, moving story before the event occurs. DFW gets swamped with media / events / etc 24-7. One day fishing companies (including BASS) will realize they need to bring in new, younger production companies that are well-versed in fishing to help them tell the story in a way to move the needle on an ad level with non-core demos but until then, the downward trend will continue. Our production company is waiting for a call lol It was a weird classic. Most are saying this. The joy wasn’t there for many. Idk, bummed. Pro fishing is in a low spot morale wise. Leadership has to understand this to have a chance to move forward. The positive was such a great human like Easton winning. So many major companies that don’t even work with Easton are excited for him. He’s deserving.
