@quodreanu88 @utilitaryan The Renaissance itself started because of Carolingian Franks and the Ottonian dynasty. The first university in Italy was founded by a Germanic, under a Germanic dynasty. But you’re too stupid yourself and biased and probably also brown like all Mediterraneans.
English

@rogr126 @utilitaryan That's also wrong, renaissance humanists like Petrarch pioneered it.
You are just stupid and probably anglo

It was the Germans with their Romanticism who gave birth to modern Greece. The French were much more stoic; some would even say “blackpilled” to the point where French historians like Lavallée declared the ancient Greeks extinct and long since replaced by Slavs and Albanians.

France and Italy are considered 'romantic' by many Anglos, and for a good reason, with Lake Como, Cannes, Paris, Rome, Venice, Saint-Tropez often making the ideal backdrop for a Hollywood story between lovers. Yet the heart of European romanticism is Germany.
English

@youngsexylegend @magicinthealps Complex of inferiority. Your best and most visited tourist attractions are glorified slums. Nothing to do there nor see apart from enjoying the sea and the weather
English

@rogr126 @magicinthealps Went to Munich last year, the average 5k person Italian village in Latium has more stuff to look at. This is just a fact.
English

@youngsexylegend @magicinthealps romantic image of Italy and its endless dirty slums.
True romanticism is the Swabian countryside the Bavarian lakes, the endless castles on the Rhine
English

@youngsexylegend @magicinthealps It didn’t look better. Italy was glazed in the past because it was the paradise of queers and fåggots. Especially the south and Sicily where these western cosmopolitan fåggots went and paid to r*pe young boys. And their parents agreed to get money. And then they created this
English

@rogr126 @magicinthealps How does this change the fact that Germany still looked worse than France or Italy?
English

@youngsexylegend @magicinthealps I clearly don’t. You’re the best at marketing your slums as some peak of culture and history

English

@quodreanu88 @utilitaryan It was Germans that made it into an academic discipline. Absolutely fundamental in shaping how we study Rome and Greece (methods, rigor, structure). Germans pioneered modern classical studies.
English

@rogr126 @utilitaryan This is just wrong btw it was the Renaissance Italians who re-enacted the Roman civilization and started to study it.
English

@youngsexylegend @magicinthealps Sure, Luigi. Now go pick up the garbage Rome is flooded in and stop being delusional
English

@rogr126 @magicinthealps Nope, even during the height of romanticism nobody cared about going to see German stuff, unless passing by returning from France and Italy. Sorry you don't know what the Grand Tour is!
English

@postmindfuck @magicinthealps Everything we know about Italy is pure marketing. They’re the best at it but live ordinary lives and are typically loud just like all Mediterraneans
English

@magicinthealps I have the suspicion that Italian film makers made their home country a mystified romantic place in modernity. I suspect you can pinpoint it to a few boomer movies that were notable.
English

Ah yes the famous countryside of Normandy. Noted for being totally identical to the English countryside in every single way.
Its also very telling what your reaction is, considering the actual English countryside itself was a very small part of my point.
You just dont get it. Because you dont have a romantic teuton soul.
English

@Querain491 @magicinthealps Everyone has this. And poetry belongs to Germany
English

@magicinthealps The soul of European romanticism is England. The Dutch may have the paintings, and the Germans the literature. But England has the poetry, and the perfect romanticist countryside. Romanticism exudes the ruins of an English abbey on a rolling green hill.

English

@Fear_Frenchie @magicinthealps Prussia lives rent free in your negrophile frog heads
English

@magicinthealps You said it, southern catholic Germany, not the weirdo Prussians that ended up winning the unification race. Norbert Elias’ « the Germans » still reigns suprems to understand this brand of autism.
English

@SunilMitha @magicinthealps Who is we? Germany was always associated with romanticism everywhere in Europe. The Romantic movement spread from Germany elsewhere.
English

@magicinthealps Iterestings points btw it’s true we never associate Germany with romance even though it’s a central country in european history and so in every aspect of it
English

@magicinthealps Chevalry is born in France and the romantic chevalry (fin amor) is born in Occitanie in South of France and then inspired the italians poets such as Dante. Dont want to deny your point but saying those have been transfered from germany…
English

@magicinthealps No such thing as g*ermnay, Nazi, it has been destoryed and filled with cucks that all beat their chest, crying about how evil they were to murder Jews and then display their shameless grotesque slave act in front of the world, They are Enforcers of the Jews.
