Cubs roster news: The team is activating INF/OF Matt Shaw (back) from the IL tomorrow after he spent a few days on a rehab assignment in the minors, sources tell ESPN. Not a surprise considering the Major League team’s offensive and baserunning woes lately.

Breaking: A judge in district court in Lubbock County, Texas, has granted the injunction requested by Texas Tech QB Brendan Sorsby. He’s set to be eligible for the 2026 season. Sorsby cannot play in Texas Tech's first two games, which was the penalty his legal team suggested to the NCAA.

Kevin Alcantara's primary role is late-inning base running. He's made multiple poor decisions on the bases. Inexcusable decisions. I bet that doesn't sit well with the coaching staff, and I wonder if that means another player will take that role. It just can't happen.

Jed is the guy who will sign 5 guys who hit 30 HR in a given yr and try to sell you he has five 30 HR guys. Who may never hit 30 again. Jed signed a bunch of guys who "could" be good or they can be so volatile you get what is happening now. Superstars carry lineups, #Cubs have 0

God Bregman is truly awful. He has brought absolutely nothing to this team that they didn’t already have. Shaw was great defensively last year and when healthy is probably a better hitter. It’s $175 million down the shitter. #Cubs
