Of course @ryan_cropp has a piece on how batteries will 'oust gas' on the day that batteries do this comical 'hi-bye' at the front-end of a demand spike, while gas carries on keeping SA's air-con running.
The 'capacity' takeover cited won't solve this endurance problem.

Didn't get power back for 22.5 hrs.
A lot of areas lost power that day/night in Victoria alone. No storms, no high winds. Just a grid that failed.
Was it due to solar pumping too much in?

26 Nov: $20k spike for four intervals at noon, whilst being exported to Vic at a loss... Complete cluster.

Mate, the Libs have got just 8 metropolitan seats in all of Australia. The only way back is to come up with a coherent and united energy policy, and NO credible commentators think abandoning Net Zero is remotely close to it.

The Australian energy market operator has published its 10 yr outlook for investment requirements to maintain reliability in the NEM. The good news is that if everything goes according to plan we will be ok. The bad news is that this means everything has to go according to plan.
