I’ve had to be horizontal and bedridden for the past 6 days due to a herniated disc (unc status I know), and today has been the first day I can sit on a chair for more than 10 minutes. My general thoughts from this experience are: 1. It can always be worse (I’ll be okay, just need a lot of physical therapy) 2. We rarely lay still in our daily lives (on the bed, on a couch) without using some sort of gadget, but when all you can do is stay still, you eventually get so bored of that and decide to stare at the ceiling instead and realize that you should probably do that more. Some of my best thoughts have happened when I was bored. 3. I used to think of my body as this thing that just worked in the background. Now I realize it’s been carrying me through everything, and I never once said thank you. 4. Your future self is watching you right now through memories. I kept thinking about 70 year old me looking back at this moment. Will I remember the week I couldn’t move or the decade I could but didn’t?

in 2026, we're laser-focused on bringing enterprises onchain. just like most large financial instos today are self-clearing, we believe those same folks will run their own chains. learn how we're extending the OP Stack for enterprises below!
Optimist Prime@jinglejamOP

Our 2026 Roadmap Last year, we made transactions 10x faster and 10x cheaper. But that’s not enough. This year, we also want to make the OP Stack hands down the best toolset for scaling to your first million dollars in onchain revenue. To us, scaling means identifying and removing bottlenecks. And the bottleneck isn’t always throughput. Sometimes, the bottleneck is liquidity. Sometimes it’s security, UX or integrations. We build tools to solve every flavor of bottleneck. That’s why OP Stack chains earn up to 3x more in profit (2x more revenue) per dollar onchain than the most successful chains on other L2 stacks. That’s why we process 14% of all transactions in crypto. And we do this all while maintaining the lowest fees. Our goal is to build infrastructure that enables companies to expand their product lines faster, and build superior user experiences. So in 2026, a majority of our product development will be focused on the following three pillars: Performance The most at-scale chains use the OP Stack. @base is the fastest and highest throughput L2 on the market - they will continue to push the limits of scaling in 2026, and the rest of the Superchain will benefit too. We’ll be allowing more compute supply for lower infrastructure costs while simultaneously handling more compute demand with the same supply through features like BALs to scale node operation, lightweight derivation, and fee market modularization. op-reth will also be available to any chain that wants it. Customizability The OP Stack is widely regarded as the most modular and customizable chain stack on the market. Notable examples include: @world_chain_'s Proof of Humanity, @Celo's native fee abstraction, and @unichain's provable blockbuilding. In 2026, we’ll add more customization levers like multiple gas tokens, priority lanes, and dynamic opcode repricing for improved execution. And alas - ZK. Revenue Your money already works harder for you on the OP Stack. We want to push that even further with native token actions such as buy & burn for any chain, MEV auctions (in partnership with Flashbots), sequencer revenue modules that enable different transaction ordering schemes, and features that enable more liquidity to move securely and quickly between chains to help reduce LTV ratios in defi apps on the Superchain. We're excited to see our partners succeed in 2026, and to deliver the roadmap that enables that. If you'd like to talk to us, come find us at our Scaling Summit in ETH Denver:

@zainbacchus this is just sequencer revenue - which is a single, net new revenue line item for any asset issuer. assuming rates are the same, NIM is strictly higher if you own and monetize your rails.

the end game for nearly all crypto apps is to be the one stop shop for all financial services and to compete with century old incumbents like jpm. and the prize is about $1t

@Optimism (Superchain) daily share of crypto transactions is growing at a mind boggling rate, on pace for over 15% of all crypto in November. July: 8.7% August: 10.3% September: 11.0% October: 12.0% November: 15.8%

First race since Serbia tomorrow. Ready to smash it. “For the Ironman, I aimed to finish. That’s a commendable goal for anyone’s first 70.3, but my training reflected that modest ambition. I did just enough to ensure I could complete the race within the required window, but left little room for error. If something unexpected happened—fatigue, injury, or a bad weather day—I wouldn’t have had the buffer to recover. To hedge against that, I should have set a more ambitious goal. Finishing in six hours, for example, would have driven me to train at a higher intensity, giving me the margin of safety I needed to handle the unexpected. I wasn’t ambitious enough with my goal—and that’s the lesson.”

No question pump has the resources and brand power to launch their own chain But is it worth the lost time, focus, cost, and network effects vs squeezing out additional margins or more control? Doesn’t seem like it rn

Ethereum Privacy, explained: Let me start by saying that privacy matters. We already understand this in the physical world: > You close the door when you are at home. > You close your curtains when you want space for yourself. > You cast your votes in private. > You choose who to trust with your stories and your life. These are the small acts that give us humans: > dignity > security > freedom This all exists IRL. But online, these protections often vanish. Every click, every message, every payment can become a data point. Every interaction can become a target. That is why privacy matters. It is not some weird mysterious thing for hackers and criminals, it is the very condition that allows us to live freely as more of our lives move into digital space. Now, Ethereum is civilizational infrastructure, it is a network where value, identity, and governance converge and remain neutral. It is trusted by individuals, by institutions, and increasingly by governments. If Ethereum is to carry the weight of this responsibility, privacy must become part of its foundation, and that is why the Ethereum Foundation is making it a core focus. Here is why Privacy matters to different groups. For people: privacy means you can prove you are eligible for a service, a vote, or a benefit without giving away everything about yourself. It means you can hold assets or send money without exposing your entire financial history. With Ethereum privacy, participation online does not mean sacrificing freedom. For developers: privacy opens a design space. It allows entirely new categories of applications like private voting, private governance, and private communication. It also makes today’s applications stronger. Without privacy, every interaction can become an attack surface. With privacy, developers can build systems that protect users and reduce the risks that come with handing over sensitive data to third parties. For institutions: privacy is operational security. An institution that runs payroll, settles trades, or manages credit onchain cannot risk leaking counterparties, strategies, or client information. Ethereum privacy allows them to fulfill regulatory requirements through proofs instead of raw data dumps, lowering the chance of a damaging breach. It also protects against frontrunning, premature liquidations, and reputational risk. In short, privacy makes Ethereum usable for serious capital. For society: privacy protects democratic processes. It strengthens pluralism. It builds trust in collective decision-making. In an era where artificial intelligence can consume and replicate our every move, privacy preserves personhood. It ensures that we remain agents of our own identities and not just raw material for someone else’s system. Privacy is not an edge feature or some scary thing for criminals. Privacy is for you, your neighbor, even their dog. It is a right. Privacy is civilizational infrastructure and because Ethereum is civilizational technology, privacy will become a core part of it.

the Superchain dominates L2 txs with >50% share. there’s good diversity, too. there are 5 chains in the Superchain doing >1M tx/ day. Base, World, and Celo lead the way!

2/ Ronin <> OP Stack The OP Stack is a set of open-source development tools anyone can use to build a Layer 2 on Ethereum. @coinbase used them to build Base. @krakenfx used them to build Ink. @uniswap is even using them to build Unichain. Over the coming months, Ronin will also use them to evolve from a sidechain to a full-fledged Ethereum L2. Here’s what this alliance will bring to our movement once the integration is complete 👇

as the world moves onchain, we’re hyper focused on providing 1) the most scalable + customizable infra, and 2) the best onchain UX. sequencing is the linchpin for both and Flashbots are the leading block-building researchers and builders. excited to build with them! 🚀
