@darrengrimes He’s been on Channel 4. He’s good at calling out the economic doom loop, but he’s light on how to fix it. Leaves people stuck rather than ready to change it.

@TheSopranosClub Really don’t get the hate for In Camelot. It’s an important episode in the ultimate decline of Tony Soprano.

@anon_opin Used Sybase for years, can’t remember anything about ‘dual tables’ - although it was about 18 years ago now 😳

The necessity to use a 'dual' table to make SQL statements work shows how messed up SQL actually is.

You can try your naughty step and strong talking to as much as you like, but children quickly see this as a sign of weakness and exploit it. The possibility of a smack has to be there as the final punishment. Trust me, once it’s been used and the potential is there, you rarely have to use it again. Maybe they should check the children of these doctors and see how self entitled they become in later life.

@LeeHurstComic I smack my son, but do not hurt him. Idiotic psychologists believe that reward is the only way. It isn't.

@BurnsyMcGru @anon_opin It depends like. If you’re only invited to the evening do then you’re just being used for the gifts and to help get various deposits back.

Weddings should just be a nice special event between 2 people and an official. Stop inviting us to use up another valuable weekend, and spend loads of money on a new outfit and present. Nobody wants to come. Maybe your parents at the most.

@anon_opin Poor you. Do you realise how much it costs them to cater for you at their wedding? Your invited because they want you, or more likely your partner, to celebrate their marriage with them. Feel free to rsvp no if you don’t want to go. Most people do want to be there.

Seeing shops selling more and more Valentine's cards that say "to my lovely mummy" and "to my granddaughter" etc. Just fucking stop it. It's fucking weird. It's a day celebrating *romantic* love, not familial or platonic love.

@anon_opin A 9 to 5 that doesn't run over into your own time for several hours per week isn't reliable or well paid enough to enrich your life

A 9-5 is a blessing. Don't listen to the weirdos talking about 'freedom'. Being your own boss means never being truly off, no security and constant stress. If anything having a 9-5 is as close to freedom as most adults can expect in return for a fun, enriched life.

If you're truly proud to be British, you stay on this cold, rainy island, pay your taxes and complain about it, you don't run off to some sunny tax haven to avoid paying for a system that gave you or your ancestors the wealth in the first place.
