I like the @JerrySeinfeld way. The reason this moment hit them so hard isn't because he won a debate. There wasn't a debate. That's the point. This wasn't an Oxford debate. It wasn't a Piers Morgan shouting match. It was Jerry's giggle, followed by three words. It was the confidence that comes from carrying the truth that sent @Ilhan and company into a meltdown. Maybe we've been overcomplicating this.

@sightONsound @bumbadum14 Changes largely do not happen out of the goodness of people’s hearts. Child labor ends because it is relatively less efficient and expected weekly hours are reduced by productivity increases and wage growth substitution effects. Self-interest is what allows things to improve.

A contract that paid SpaceX for their services. A contract doesn't mean that they're giving SpaceX money for nothing in return. Hell SpaceX has made sending things into space so much cheaper, that even if they did just give SpaceX money , you could argue that it has helped NASA and the space industry in general by innovating like they have.

Elon being rich affects me in absolutely zero negative way. Most SNAP recipients suck off taxpayers’ tit and provide nothing of value in return. Sure, Elon’s companies have received significant government support through subsidies, but much of them have been repaid, earned through contracts, or structured as market mechanisms. The net fiscal and societal return has been strongly positive (though I personally do support eliminating subsidies for every and all industries). SNAP, however, is a direct welfare transfer with no repayment or performance expectation. Your comparison is baloney.

You dont have to like Elon Musk to see the real and basic truth to his response to the Democratic Party. They push envy as a means of promoting hatred. They have no succesful ideas how to help people. They cant take power with their their ideas ONLY on promoting hate.

You are a taker, not a maker. All you’ve done your whole life is take from the makers of the world. The zero-sum mindset you have is at the root of so much evil. Once you realize that civilization is not zero-sum and that it is about making far more than one consumes, then it becomes obvious that the path to prosperity for all is just let the makers make. Regarding Tesla, the reality is that I have been given nothing. However, if I lead Tesla to become the most valuable company in the world by far and it stays that way for 5 years, shareholders voted to award me 12% of what is built. Anyone who wants to come along for the ride can buy Tesla stock. If Tesla “merely” becomes a $1.999 trillion dollar company, I get nothing. This is a great deal for shareholders, which is why they voted so overwhelmingly to approve this, for which I am immensely grateful. And they did so by a margin far more than you won your political seat.
