@suseyblue @SketchesbyBoze “ there are no floggings for despising that sort of patronage.” I think I’m in love with this sentence.

Which 'men' 'keep saying' that lol, that's some stupid shit 😄 I don't know any men in my family that don't read, and aren't emasculated by having Elizabeth Peters and Agatha Christie on the shelf next to Richard Adams and Tom Clancy. It sounds like sour grapes that women novelists eventually achieved professional recognition, fun fact: most women readers also find the whole 'Oprah's Book Club' phenomenon repulsive as any man. Just don't read White Oleander or whatever; there are no floggings for despising that sort of patronage.

Men keep saying, “There are no books written for men today.” Even if that were true, you’re not limited to the contemporary fiction section. Read history. Read myth. If new books don’t suit you, try old ones. I promise, there are books for every interest. There are books for you.

@SketchesbyBoze New Men fiction books by men: everything Andy Weir, the Will of the Many, the Red Rising series (5 books), everything by CJ Box, everything by Stephen King except maybe Holly, and this is all just off the top of my head. Do better guys. There’s plenty.

@faustocoppi60 Remember in the Tour when Tadej was talking about how Jonas shouldn’t be happy at the team dinner table. That was wild. Hope he’s enjoying his teams displays here.

2 minutes for Vine and Vervaeke with 85 km to go. Can someone explain me what's tactic behind Jay's move? There are no KOM points and he already won 2 stages...Isn't it better to save the legs for Almeida in the 3rd week? #LaVuelta25

Check out this time lapse of the Pillar Point Harbor in Half Moon Bay. Notice the abrupt up and down motion of the boats. A tsunami is not just one wave. It's a packet of waves that can last for several hours. This rapid surging of water can create dangerous currents. #tsunami

@BenjiNaesen I was 8 and Bjarne Riis gets a flat in the ‘97 TdF, they change his wheel instead of the bike and then before he even gets going his chain comes off and he’s so pissed he throws his bike into the field at the side of the road. Legendary. youtu.be/DFzteK_y1b4?si…

For some reason, one of my go-to childhood memories of watching cycling, is Thor Hushovd in the WC jersey dropping Jérémy Roy (?) in the descent of the Aubisque (?) on the way to Lourdes (?). What's your most random pro cycling memory? ⤵️

@philipbts3 @LucGrefte This was the big problem. She wasn’t at the front or the back or even the far left or right, she was in Roglic land and also mid pack.

@LucGrefte either at p2 or at the back, if theres a 5km rule today there is zero reason to be in p10-20 with 3,8km to go

As a GC rider there's no reason to be fighting for position like Vollering just did when there is the 3–5 km rule in place. Pogacar used to ride up front too and nearly ended up in the barriers in Copenhagen, he's stayed further back ever since. #TDFF2025

@Gary_Bertier @LucGrefte Loved this moment too. Jorgensen really showed such great racing IQ in this stage and Wout as well. Attacking with others when possible and making Pogi consistently work when he would hope to just be sitting on we’re huge factors in the win.

@LucGrefte If you rewind a bit, Jorgensen had already done this by letting Mohorič’s wheel go for Pog to have to chase back. Between Jorgenson’s repeat attacks & both Visma guys leaving gaps for Pog to close, they perfectly primed him to crack leading into the bottom of the 3rd Montmartre.

Something Van Aert did yesterday which was pretty great: he intentionally let a gap open up to Jorgenson, something teammates could be doing much more often. In the previous corner, he spoke into his radio, presumably to tell Matteo he’d let the wheel go. #TDF2025

@jalapenos808 @NairoInGreen I’m not sure anyone really knows but last years TdF when Tadej attacked and caught Matteo with like 600m to go really pissed Mateo off and then this year Mateo was maybe the most vocal about feed-zone-gate and UAE complaining and that pissed of Tadej and his team.
