Jet packs are all well and good. Something to aspire to eventually? Maybe. But, there is so much more that the paramedic and pre-hospital profession needs before jet packs.

@EM_RESUS Watched someone use colorimetric and then replace it with waveform "after they had confirmed placement" with the inferior method. Very strange approach

If you’re not using waveform ETCO2 for confirmation of airway placement in 2020 your practice is out of date.

@EBMgoneWILD ...physician who is still going to be needed to handle all of specialty patients who are not going to disappear just because a pandemic hits. It’s just a matter of effective resource allocation at that point - why to teach the lawyer to fly a plane when you have a copilot ready?

@EBMgoneWILD ...you could send BLS crews on >80% of these calls. Now you have a pool of ALS medics who can pick up the slack in the hospital, and I’m guessing that a paramedic would probably be more helpful and efficient in the ED or ICU than a dermatologist or other specialized...(continued)

At this point I'm more and more convinced that there needs to be a wholesale change of #EMS. bringing stable nearly asymptomatic patients who are elderly for non-emergent conditions is putting their lives at risk. I'm not saying chest pain or stroke symptoms shouldn't come 1/
