Musi beautification project: Questions mount over one-kilometer buffer zone Uncertainty continues to surround the Musi Beautification project, as discrepancies emerge between official claims and ground-level actions. While the Congress government maintains that land acquisition will be limited to a 50-meter buffer zone on either side of the river, recent developments suggest a much wider scope - possibly extending up to one kilometer. In areas like Chaderghat, nearly 300 houses have already been demolished, with authorities claiming they were located within the river limits. However, residents allege that boundary markers in several areas have been placed far beyond the declared 50-meter limit, in some cases stretching up to 700 meters to one kilometer. Further raising concerns is a tender issued by the Musi Riverfront Development Corporation Limited (MRDCL) for 3D digital modeling of structures within a one-kilometer radius on both sides of the river. The tender, valued at Rs. 18 lakh, covers a 42-square-kilometer area as part of the project’s first phase, which spans 21 kilometers from Himayatsagar to Bapu Ghat. The move has prompted questions: if the project is confined to a 50-meter buffer, why map structures far beyond it? Adding to the suspicion, earlier presentations by officials reportedly outlined plans to develop a one-kilometer-wide corridor along the river, inspired by international models like Seoul. Such large-scale commercial development - featuring real estate, tourism, and business hubs - would not be feasible within a narrow buffer zone. Compensation policies have also fueled doubts. Government orders provide escalating compensation - 200%, 300%, and 400% of property value - for structures located within the riverbed, buffer zone, and beyond. Critics argue this indicates a clear intent to acquire land outside the officially stated limits. Despite repeated assurances, the government has not disclosed key details, including the total land to be acquired or the number of affected households. With reports suggesting over one lakh structures fall within the one-kilometer stretch, concerns over transparency and displacement continue to grow.

Yesterday we purchased a outdated Samsung A06 Mobile for Rs.8249, But Congress Government is acquiring 38310 same Samsung mobiles from Distributor for Rs.11650 each with a contract value of Rs.54 crores. If i purchased 1 mobile for Rs.8249 Govt can buy Bulk of 38310 for Rs.6500 6500 × 38310 - Rs.24 crores. But Congress Govt spent Rs.54 crores.
