Major fire in Hyderabad’s KBR Park! Congress government decided to axe around 2000 trees. So that they can construct seven flyovers & seven underpasses around KBR park. Not one. Seven + Seven. These flyovers and underpasses will destroy the ecosystem of KBR forest. Many citizens fought against the project. Even knocked the doors Supreme Court. Court ordered immediate halt to tree felling in the eco-sensitive zone surrounding the park. And today there was a massive fire accident inside the park. The chronology is hard to miss..!! 34 deaths were recorded due to heat in Telangana today and ever since Congress came to power trees have been facing death sentences. Just last year, officially 10,200 plus trees were axed by the government and not a single plantation drive has been taken up. Temperatures are currently touching 43-47 degrees in Telangana.

Bike lanes with trees instead of plastic bollards. Yes please! The council did a really nice job here. The street feels much nicer for pedestrians too, not just cyclists.

Let’s not forget about this. We are hoping that there will be stricter regulations regarding hawkers encroaching on footpaths, especially in Chowringhee, New Market, and Esplanade areas, and that they could be properly relocated to dedicated vending zones.
