What if the user looked away for a moment? After that animation plays, it's gone and you can't see the indication of where to put your finger. Instead it's replaced with a giant fingerprint symbol. I'm not surprised the same type of person who tries to touch a Mac screen would try to put their finger on the screen... it's intuitive in a way the top button is not.

that's just CLEAR user error💀 the iPad does tell you that the Touch ID sensor is at the top, right before you set up Touch ID, and the fingerprint glyph only comes up when you touch the sensor first how is this bad UI/UX by Apple?
