Kamarajar got defeated. Vajpayee got defeated. PV Narasimha Rao got defeated.

Just one WhatsApp status yesterday indirectly criticised TVK for taking support from the DMK alliance. I was flooded with messages and had a sleepless night replying to a couple of them. For the rest, I managed to convince them that it wasn’t about Vijay and that I don’t know anything about politics at all. Meanwhile, my wife is scared to go to the office on Monday. People in their teens, 20s, and 30s are apparently being singled out in schools, colleges, and workplaces for not supporting Vijay. I’ve never experienced anything remotely close to this in Tamil Nadu.

It’s officially Vijay versus Uday. As I have predicted, Uday will find this role very difficult. News: Uday appointed Leader of DMK party in Assembly. He will be the Leader of Opposition. Without the experience of sitting in the opposition benches like KN Nehru (Deputy LoP!), or EV Velu (Whip), Uday will find it challenging to negotiate this turf. Uday’s baptism actually begins now. If he does well, he will earn the respect of the people. In other news, DMK has lifted the gag on its Spokespersons appearing on tv shows.
