@lensassaman He describes $remus as the house gargoyle. His name isn’t actually gargoyle, that’s the description of his personality as being like a gargoyle. The pups name is $Remus

I watched the recent SteadyLads episode with Kain and I have to admit I had no idea that vitamin and the EF dislike DeFi… It almost feels hard to believe in a sense. The overwhelming majority of ETH’s value comes from its use as collateral in DeFi, why on earth would you want to see fewer DeFi protocols being built? I honestly hope it’s not true. I would feel a bit jaded tbh since I see vitamin praising USDC all the time which I find to be a very unimpressive use of crypto. It’s almost ironic to shill something like USDC (which literally undermines ETH as an SoV and the neutrality of the chain) and ask for less DeFi (the thing that lends the most value to ETH) in the same breath. If I had to sympathize with the view I would say maybe vitamin is a purist who thinks much of our defi isn’t really defi due to the reliance on trusted oracles and multisigs (which to be fair is a valid criticism) and that he would encourage more “pure defi” with no external dependencies like Uniswap. But I can’t read Vitalik’s mind so I don’t know what he really thinks. I just find it hard to believe that his views of defi are really that pitiful, if so, that would be very discouraging to all of us who are defending ETH on the timeline and using the chain while attention migrates else where. If you have a line to vitamin I request that you send him this, I still don’t really believe the assertion that he doesn’t like defi but I’d prefer to hear it from the horse’s mouth.

@VitalikButerin @0xstrobe @llamaonthebrink Lending, borrowing, insurance, betting are part of any financial ecosystem because they fulfill inherent needs. Excess of anything is bad, whether excess goods manufactured or excess leverage. I don't think the creators should not favoring one type of use case over others

@VitalikButerin @0xstrobe @llamaonthebrink Isn't that how traditional finance also works? People trying to earn more than the rate at which they borrow. Fulfils the capital requirement for those who don't have the capital. Those who don't have capital get access to it, that's Defi. We should separate Ponzinomics from Defi

$SHEZMU is the most capital efficient *𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐬𝐚𝐟𝐞𝐬𝐭* lending platform in crypto — think $AAVE or $MKR with some major upgrades: ✅ 𝐍𝐨 𝐥𝐢𝐪𝐮𝐢𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 on $ETH-pegged assets ✅ 𝐙𝐞𝐫𝐨 𝐭𝐨 𝐧𝐞𝐠𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 interest rates on loans (get paid to leverage)

@pydono @PrimordialAA Same here. Main report got en-masse targeted by sybils and seems like the team's effort was diverted and they ended up focusing on poor reports with low acceptance rate. Laughable if you say that only 10 M sybils were found out of 85 or 95 M. Waste of effort

Yeah, I’m guessing this happened because my initial report was dismissed. It is really unfortunate that I don’t get any credit for the identified sybils even when Nansen (and other hunters) confirmed them to be true positives. The review process seemed to be somewhat arbitrary in terms of drawing the line between dismissal and approval and my report apparently landed on the wrong side of that line despite evidentially catching a lot of sybils. And my revised report which would definitely have been approved was never even reviewed. If my original reports had been included with their original timestamps I would have gotten over 14000 ZRO based on the current fcfs list, which would have made me a top 8 hunter. If the addresses from my report that were attributed to Nansen were also attributed to me I would probably have been in the top 5. I was so incredibly close to a significant bounty, but instead I ended up getting absolutely nothing. Needless to say I do not feel great about this right now.

FCFS list is up for feedback and review
LayerZero Foundation@LayerZero_Fndn

The provisional list for sybil bounty hunter attributions, along with other details, has been uploaded to Commonwealth here: commonwealth.im/layerzero/disc… Bounty hunters can review this provisional list until 00:00 UTC on July 21st. Final distribution will occur by the end of day Tuesday, July 23rd. Distribution is at the sole discretion of the LayerZero Foundation, and is subject to change. This list should not be taken as a final sybil list or re-used as is. The list reflects a snapshot at the time of distribution, but does not consider unreviewed reports, or reports which were later deemed to be false positives.

@omeragoldberg @chaoslabs Totally agree, incentive mechanisms have to catch up. While figuring out Layerzero sybils, I found ~100K sybils. I would say that 60-80% of users are not real. Outsized returns on airdrops causes this and is a problem the industry has to solve.
