New CCTV footage emerges of the Air India 787 as it took off from Ahmedabad. It also appears to show smoke (or dust) as the aircraft lifted off from the runway.

It's that time of year again... widespread elevated #particulate #airpollution across #Yorkshire and eastern England right now. Here is #Leeds Centre (data from @DefraUKAir).

I would be willing to bet some money on this episode being dominated by particulate ammonium nitrate, as in past springtimes. Perhaps @JamesAllanAtmos and colleagues can show us some real-time #Manchester aerosol composition data?

The meteorological situation is favouring slack easterly flow from continental Europe. Interestingly, synoptic situation differs slightly from the classic Springtime Pollution episodes of past yrs - i.e. nearby established high pressure over Scandinavia / Baltics.
