@currys e-voucher has been failing on this site for months and nobody fixing it! Spent £1600 today and couldn't take the £8.10 on a card to complete the transaction as it is now waiting to recover the e vouchers. absolute useless system don't offer it if it doesn't work!!!!

Which is why the government has today appointed commissioners to run the council. This was a Tory Council when the unsustainable liabilities were taken on. The Levelling Up Dept and minister Lee Rowley considers “that this is, based on current evidence, the most challenging financial position of any local authority in England”.

You're right if you ignore the fact... -I've campaigned vociferously about too high standing charges. -Done public and private submissions to Ofgem to object - Called out ofgem ceo and energy sec and firm ceos on it during countless interviews including today. - Raised it at a summit I called with all big energy firm bosses - Deliberately refer to it publically as a moral hazard - Given it airtime on my show repeatedly and on gmb Other than that yeah I've done little so you're right to blame me.

Energy bills will drop an average 17% on 1 July as price cap falls to £2,074/yr for someone on typical user. This will be done by dropping unit rate, high standing charge will remain (I await exact details). I'll be questioning ofgem after 8 on @GMB

These are not great inflation figures. Core CPI inflation (excluding energy, food, alcohol and tobacco) rose by 6.8% in year to April 2023, up from 6.2% in March - the highest rate since March 1992. This is what Bank of Eng looks at so further interest rate rises are likely. And food inflation still 19.1%, down negligibly from 19.2%. Pretty disappointing for all of us. And a set back for the PM’s ambition to halve inflation this year
