3.5% "convenience fee" for society dues on mygate if you use your credit card (vs ₹2 on UPI). I get now why they had to legislate the MDR on UPI and debit cards. With an MDR of <1%, this is more about price discrimination than high underlying costs. I know this pays for my precious credit card points but high transaction costs bog down the entire economy, and the points would be, um pointless if transaction velocity slows down.
