2/10 The SNP didn't just hide this. They developed a remarkably specific grammar of evasion. Funds that were "frozen" became "woven through" the accounts. A First Minister who said finances were managed "on a cash flow basis" — when the party used accrual accounting. An auditor fraud flag that was never made public. Technically defensible in isolation. Collectively incoherent side by side.

@ka8895 And the Business Managers of opposition (I don’t count Greens as opposition) parties seemed to agree without a whimper. I’ve always thought it was a huge flaw not to have a second chamber in Holyrood even more so now.

Holyrood was designed with committees instead of a second chamber. The committees were supposed to be the check against the executive. But to have the governing party control the key ones is to corrupt the entire thing.

Very embarrassing from @S_A_Somerville who replied to @MeghanSCUP saying the West Lothian school ruling was about "different legislation" to the Equality Act. No, it was found to be indirect discrimination under the terms of EA2010. It's clearly amateur hour at Holyrood!
