Just had a very good discussion with @POTUS about his recent statement regarding the consequences to Iran if they do not agree to an acceptable peace deal.
I support diplomatic efforts to end the conflict consistent with our military objectives, but it takes two to tango.
The necessity for military action is weeks not months and Operation Epic Fury is well ahead of pace. The hope for me has always been that by neutralizing Iran as the largest state sponsor of terrorism, it will open the gateway to peace allowing Saudi Arabia and Israel to normalize their relationship, effectively ending the Arab-Israeli conflict.
If this historic normalization deal between Saudi Arabia and Israel occurs, it will be due to President Trump’s bold, decisive leadership in dealing with the Iranian threat so they can no longer be a spoiler for peace like they were on October 7, 2023.
Keep it up Mr President. Wind down the war and wind up efforts for an historic peace deal.

Glad @IsraeliPM personally & promptly intervened to allow Cardinal Pizzaballa access to Church of Holy Sepulcher. ALL holy sites have restrictions due to Iranian missiles & safety issues, but private access on Palm Sunday was reasonable & issue now resolved. TY @IsraeliPM

I have instructed the relevant authorities that Cardinal Pierbattista Pizzaballa, the Latin Patriarch, be granted full and immediate access to the Church of the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem. Over the past several days, Iran has repeatedly targeted the holy sites of all three monotheistic religions in Jerusalem with ballistic missiles. In one strike, missile fragments crashed meters from the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. To protect worshippers, Israel asked members of all faiths to temporarily abstain from worshipping at the Christian, Muslim and Jewish holy sites in Jerusalem’s Old City. Today, out of special concern for his safety, Cardinal Pizzaballa was asked to refrain from holding mass at the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. Even though I understand this concern, as soon as I learned about the incident with Cardinal Pizzaballa, I instructed the authorities to enable the Patriarch to hold services as he wishes.

Wondering how proud Jesus would be of his acting today. He knew about the restrictions. Could have made a phone call to coordinate since it was so important. Instead he just showed up and expected a red carpet but was shown the door, for his safety.
He threw a political stunt. He let 10 hours go by. Watched the world condemn Israel. Got Bibi to intervene. Got what he wanted. Then confessed he was treated with respect and knew about the restriction.
He is a savage and should be recalled immediately for causing an international incident because his ego was bruised.

As an American, I must express: It is regrettable that you condemned the ‘incident’ knowing well the cardinal is a troublemaker, knew about the restriction, he did not coordinate, then played victim when he was shown the door, for his safety.

The Melkite Catholic community in Jaffa (Tel Aviv) is celebrating Palm Sunday and has a message for the world:
“We are Christians and we are Israelis. We are proud of our citizenship. It’s false that Israel persecutes us.”
All religious sites are closed in Jerusalem due to Iranian missile threat. But people are still free to celebrate elsewhere in the country.
