s-tier startup advice. tldr: “Find the technological shift. Develop a unique insight. Become obsessed with the market. Talk to customers. Find a hair on fire problem. Build the simplest possible wedge. Earn distribution. And most importantly, don't quit when things get hard.”

Founders need to obsess. You only get one life. Don’t screw it up by being average. Go all in. Act like a psycho. Let people call you crazy. I beg you. Obsession is the only way to win.

dear twitter, please help me find a cofounder, preferably: - technical - wants to attack vertical problems - has a US Visa or is a US citizen (nice to have) - has agency I've raised a pre-seed round from EF, and I'm offering equal split of equity. dm me or tag your friends

@ilyesm @tusharnandy08 Offering close to equal but still asymmetric lets you speedrun having your first difficult conversation and fight much earlier. Even if you end up landing on equal, it means you've stress tested the relationship up front

I never expected this would reach so many people. A few necessary clarifications: 1. US Visa is NOT a requirement. Drive to build >>> 2. I raised in January and tested 3 ideas with my co-founder previously. We were amidst a pivot when he had to quit due to personal reasons 3. Interested in building for a vertical, but open to exploring

bro gave up on founders who don't already hold a US visa wild that EF funds this kind of gatekeeping when some of the best builders are outside the US even he forgot that he is an indian also

That's some use of brain cells 🤡 None of the founders of the company I mentioned prev were americans, but they're now tracking to ~1M in ARR 1. I did travel frequently to the U.S. to meet my customers and validate my idea, and have a B1 too 2. I have experience in cracking distribution and building a network in the US while being in India 3. I also bring capital and am offering a fair split If this seems like a ploy, find something better to do with your time. I was able to connect with some very talented people via this post, none close to being the grifter that you are.

@tusharnandy08 Sure but like im in the US why would i want to work with someone outside? Someone has no sense of the market in here? What would you bring to the table? Seems like a ploy idk

@gargdush an e.g.: A startup I know is building charting software for doctors. If you look deeply into it, charting is not really a problem in India, whereas it's a nightmare for doctors in the US. Some problems just have a US-centric nature, and that's completely ok.
