@stephenjfitz @mufcMPB I’m not saying he’s not a good player. I just think even for England he was essentially behind Mainoo for that role at the last Euros. I think Mainoo can offer just as much if not more, and I’d personally rather spend on someone with a different skillset.

@uj29589 @mufcMPB Gallagher isn’t ‘an answer’, but for £35m he would add quality to our current shitshow of a midfield. He chases, closes down, can tackle, run & can get on the ball & play. The fact he can also get forward & arrive late in the box is another dimension we lack. No brainer for me.

@mufcMPB Conor Gallagher available at £35m. Would instantly firm up our lacklustre CM & provide a better platform for consistency towards a UCL place. He’s good enough for Villa & Spurs but we’re nowhere near him. It’s alright though; We paid £41m for Ugarte & have an ageing Casemiro.

Man City’s owners hired Begiristain & Pep as a clear strategy. They’d worked together. There was a respect & a common approach to football style & the player profiles needed were clear. There are other combinations of DoF/ Head Coach in Europe too. Monchi & Unai Emery for example

@stephenjfitz Personally I don’t think top 5 is that tough. We aren’t in Europe and the quality of the league is so poor. We’ve dropped 6 points in the last 3 games and yet no one has really pulled away. We just need to find form and put a run together and I think we would get top 5

@uj29589 Yes Fletcher sacrificed a DCM for a winger. Bruno and Cunha being off made trying to find a winner even more tough. Zirkzee offered little. Lacey was excellent and so close to a great United goal. Top 5 will be tough but we have plenty of our stronger players to come back in.

@stephenjfitz Yeh I’m not quite sure why Cunha went off tbh. It’s a poor result but at least we made positive changes to try and win the game rather than bring on 3 new CBs and Malacia.

@uj29589 Shame Bruno and Cunha had to make way as they were feeding him well second half. He might have scored a hat tick if he wasn’t so rash with two more chances.

@stephenjfitz He at least makes good runs, can hold up the ball and link play and can be good in the air. He’s shown much more so far compared to hojlund or zirkzee. Ideally he would’ve been behind a more experienced striker and had time to learn his trade.

@uj29589 You’d hope so mate. A CF HAS to be strong & show resilience & brutality. That’s a minimum and he hasn’t shown anywhere near enough yet. He’s had a good moment or two tonight against Burnley. He’s just shown he can make positive runs and can finish. He didn’t at Leeds. Let’s see.
