Every voter should understand how reckless this is. Every Congressperson of good conscience should denounce it. Israel, the one democracy in the Middle East, is our strongest ally, and they have been fighting for years to defeat terrorists who hate America. You can disagree with Israel’s actions, but to suggest America should stop providing defensive weapons is the same thing as saying we should stop protecting innocent civilians from being hit by rockets. Is that @AOC’s actual position?

The Iron Dom is important & saves lives. Israel should be able to buy it on their own with a $45 defense billion budget. Israel is a first world country, and it can pay for the defensive systems it needs. We should not be subsidizing them, especially given their egregious violations of human rights law. Even Netanyahu has recognized the inevitability of Israel moving away from US aid.

I am curious if you’ve had more time to think about this since our conversation @RoKhanna, when you told me that you would not be in favor of conditioning Iron Dome funding based on Israel’s compliance with human rights law. Would you join @AOC on this pledge?

With a $660 billion GDP, Israel can pay for its own defense just as the Arab Gulf states do!
