The shift Riot is making here towards measuring fandom for Pacific reevaluations is absolutely the right structural lever here. Although the other big question here is how fandom and team engagement will actually be quantified in Riot's terms. Average viewership? Engagement metrics on social media/YouTube? These metrics also correlate heavily with success and perceived roster quality to the fans. Isolating the value of team brand equity from player-dependent attention needs to be looked at further, as teams will still optimize for whatever proxy metrics Riot defines regardless of whether those metrics reflect real fandom depth. Would love to see this become the template for Americas and EMEA reevaluation too!

With Gen.G 🇰🇷 competing in GC Korea, we finally have a new tier 1 org in GC PACIFIC and they might be the only one... So far there have been no new developments regarding the involvement of DRX 🇰🇷 and DFM 🇯🇵 in the japanese circuit, afaik they left the scene completely.
