@DefenceGeek Not sure all have been delivered. 'Around 20' of the 28 had been delivered by early November last year.

Kuwait ordered 28 Typhoons originally, and if I recall correctly all were delivered by last year - so the loss of 3 airframes is certainly a dent in their fleet (10.7%)

I'm hearing the attack on Ali Al Salem air base last week - 5/6 March - destroyed three Kuwait Air Force Typhoons. Those Iranian missiles appear to be very accurate. Doesn't bode well for those without effective ballistic missile defences...

Three more B-1s have just arrived at #RAFFairford, the place is looking like a proper bomber base now with six B-52s and 12 B-1s now in situ. Three B-1s flew a mission earlier in the week. Not surprisingly parking restrictions are in place around the base.

Yes, AFM came up with that conclusion when we looked at Venezuela and the capture of Maduro. Needless to say it wasn't just a lack of proficiency on the Russian systems but it contributed.

Kuwait was the recipient in numerous sales supporting its Patriot PAC-3 capability. Its worth asking once again, how proficient local operators of a lot of fancy military gear really are. Recall the downing of three F-15E on March 2 by a Kuwaiti F/A-18.

After a week at #WorldDefenseShow working with #AviationWeek #ShowBusiness show daily in Riyadh I'm on way home. Interesting time, with companies queuing up to sign MOUs in the MOU rooms. If you haven't got anything to announce, sign an MOU... :)

@Saab close a pretty positive year, by announcing a SEK 12.3 billion deal with the French Air and Space Force today for two #GlobalEyes, with options for another two. I recall it was a very hot day at Paris airshow in June, when @DGA announced the AEW&C platform had been selected

The President of Indonesia was in Pakistan this week. I'm reliably informed by Indonesian sources his team got a full briefing on the #PakistanAirForce #J10 performance against the #IndianAirForce in May. With 12 on order the TNI-AU is keen to know more about its capabilities.

Negotiations are allegedly underway between @LDO_Aeronautics and the #IndonesianAirForce for purchase of 18 #M346FI light combat aircraft, equipped with new Leonardo/#Hanwha Grifo EK AESA radar. A local company will provide air combat/EW training. Pic Warnesyworld

Was talking to a mate recently about the #Atlas/Denel Cheetah C/Ds. Impressive fighter and officially retired by the #SouthAfricanAirForce in 2008. Hadn't realised the C boasted an Elta EL/M2032 radar. The Cheetah E was top secret and still no one will talk about it today.

After Pakistan, the Indonesian President headed to Russia for discussions that included more procurement. I'm hearing Indonesia is looking to revamp all aspects of the #TNIAU including a new Air Warfare Centre. More news on that soon. :)
