Someone who is parasocial is closer and more intimate than that. They will find the entertainer to be closer to a friend.

@Sneightow @neceros Its not entitlement to worry about a content creators future and its even less entitlement if you're someone who is a member to her and pays on a monthly basis. Transparency is just a matter of respect, no one is asking her to stream during her hiatus.

@IzumiIkiryo Yeah. I don't think anyone *owes* people anything, but I also think life shouldn't boil down to what bare minimums you owe people. It's at best professionalism and at worst common courtesy to at least be open with the people subbed to you, IMO.

My take on the whole Saba thing that no one asked for: As an indie Vtuber you have complete freedom to stream or post as much or as little as you want. However, given that people care about you and are giving you their hard-earned money, I think at the very least you should be giving an update from time to time. If you're having health issues or just focusing on other things in your life, that's totally fine. But if this is going to keep you away from what is technically your 'job' for months at a time, an occasional update is the bare minimum in my opinion.

@chattinilawyer @voymay Just because its not a physical or verbal contract doesn't mean there's no contract involved. Every transaction is contract. When you go the grocery store and you get a receipt that is proof of the contract. When you buy membership to receive "live-streams" that is a contract.

again, they have 0 obligations with any of the subscribers, no one is forcing you to pay monthly, and while the VODs aren't livestreams, if you weren't there when they were live, that's your problem. There's no obligation or contract involved, and it's not specified whether they'll be a live every month or not. If you decide to treat it as monthly content, that's your prerogative.

The entitlement here is wild lol Just a reminder: subs and SC are tips, you send it to reward and thank the content creator for the entertainment. It’s not a salary or a PPV bill. The streamer has zero obligation to you. You pay because you want to, not because you’re their boss. And also here is a radical thought, but hear me out: you can literally just stop sending money. These people are SO annoying 😑
