@paddymacc1 If they get in it is definitely suicide for the country. Remember, Ursula and Co will select our government. You can vote all you like.

"Just to play devil’s advocate: if the government had actually collapsed yesterday, what’s the next move? Is this group really the 'government-in-waiting' people are putting their faith in?"

@keira_con @DeSmallcock Maybe we should look at the elephant in the room, unvetted foreign lunatics all over the country whose culture and religion dictates that rape and murder is ok to do to the non-believer. Martin doesn't believe in vetting, but people have paid with their lives for his ignorance.

I have often said in spaces in summer we would take off in the morning after breakfast come back for lunch and then gone till dark, my cousins from Dublin used to live coming to the country, we would walk the railway line, get caught on barbed wire, fall into stream, cycle bikes without helmets, taste beer shandys, no one told use we were privileged or racists as we loved Mr T in the A Team actually everyone wanted to be MR T, Eddie Murphy in Beverly Hills Cop, We loved Diff'rent Strokes and Gary Coleman, The Cosby Show well at the time he was good as far as we knew, My Sister and my female cousins did what they wanted no one was r$ped, abducted, or M$rded, We had child hood innocence Believed in Santa even when we knew but we still did, Although they did use a strap on us at school if we misbehaved never at home though, and if we got a F in our exam we were told to try harder next time not given participation stars and told we were brilliant, we got jobs based on what we knew rather than DEI and we respected our bosses when we stated out and when they told us buck up we did, not go to a comfort room with a blankly like now, We would never consider destroying art with pain, and we just about had sex ed though we figured it out in our own time, In my time at school we never had trans students yes there were tomboys who hated wearing the skirt did mechanical drawing, metal work and wood work and there were boys who were feminine who did home ech, Not that I am in any way suggesting there are not trans people who need help but not to the level in schools that it is now, Back in the day if you said something vile expect a slap in the face not cyber bullies who would not say it to a persons face now, back in people looked out for each other, neighbors helped neighbors, Ireland was in poverty then but we wanted for nothing and we had respect for people unlike now all in all they were better times we survived it and I miss those days.

And so it starts, The kids can walk to school or cycle like we did. Mr Kenneally, who operates a fleet of 25 buses, said he gave Bus Éireann prior notice that he would not operate the school routes beyond the Easter holidays A well known coach operator said he has pulled out of 13 schoolbus runs because the cost of fuel and tax on fuel were crippling his business. Paudie Kenneally, Kenneally Coach Hire, Newcastle West, Limerick said: “I’m not going to go bankrupt to cover school runs for Bus Éireann or anyone.” “I feel sorry for our kids using our service, but this is now a race to the bottom, and I won’t be working like that,” added Kenneally (50s). Asked what he would say to parents and pupils who require school transport, he replied: “Look, that is the heartbreaking part of it, I am driving children all my life, my father before me, we’re in the business 43 years.” “I drive a lot of children with special educational needs, and autistic children who don’t like change, who like to see the same bus driver - you’d be mad about them,” he said, becoming emotional. Kenneally said he gave Bus Éireann prior notice that he would not operate the school routes beyond the Easter holidays. Kenneally said a fuel support package unveiled by government would not change his mind. “I don’t need the stress and pressure of this anymore. It was very easy to make a decision to make, the numbers don’t add up.” “The operating costs are gone too high, and this 10 cent (reduction on excise duty on a litre of petrol, diesel) ) is only a waste of time, it will be evaporated straightaway.” “The biggest problem we have in Ireland is that the middle class are being squeezed, and the middle are paying everything.” He said a 16.5 per cent cut to excise duty on private aircraft fuel approved by the government last month, was a kick in the teeth to everyone outside of that demographic group, and he asked, “if you have a private jet or a helicopter are you worried about the price of fuel?” The Limerick coach operator said he supported his neighbours, friends, colleagues and customers who took part in last week’s blockade at a fuel terminal at Foynes village. Kenneally said his late father, David Kenneally, who began their schoolbus service 43 years ago, would have made the same decision that he has now made: “He’s like me, he’s a figures man, one plus one has to make two.” Kenneally, who employs 17 staff and operates a fleet of 25 buses, said he would continue to operate bus services for active retirement groups, tourists, HSE, and private hire services. “It’s a terror to walk away from the school runs, I’ve been driving second generation kids to school, it’s very upsetting.”

@keira_con @DeSmallcock Yet you suggested that kids walk or cycle to school? Do you have children, do they walk to school,go to the park, go to the swimming pool, the library or anywhere unless accompanied or driven?

@wicklapaul @keira_con I certainly wouldn't let any child of mine walk to school. How many attempted kidnappings have there been, how many children have been molested and worse. I too walked a long distance to school and my parents didn't have to worry whether I'd return home safely.

@keira_con I had to walk 2 miles to school and 2 miles back to the house rain hail sleet and snow, luckily they schools are shut down now with 2 cm of snow on the ground, I know times have changed but surely it wouldn't be hard to get a bit of fresh air with a bit of a walk

The protests in Ireland are not about just fuel! They are about the distance between Ireland on this graph and every other modern and developed economy. Ireland is second wealthiest but gets waaaaay less than any other country for that wealth. By a golden mile. That visual gap in this graph? That’s what people are protesting. It’s a lack of infrastructure and the everyday enshittification of services, the economy, and the additional difficulty of trying to live, relative to peers in any other country. It also highlights why people don’t get uniformly listened to! - because there is no government architecture to engage meaningfully across this huge gap. That gap is a three hour drive to work in traffic, a 14 month wait for an MRI, buses that don’t arrive, trains that don’t exist, schools that have no places for your kids, houses that are unaffordable, pubs that close before midnight, €12 sandwiches, expensive fuel. People feel this gap, even if they can’t explain it precisely. And that builds into resentment, and ultimately protest. Fuel just happened to be the next thing that could be pointed to, today.

@EddieMackeral @CilComLFC A very dangerous practice of that's the case. How many people have died in cells over the years? These types are dangerous. Both of them should be sacked.🇮🇪🇮🇪🇮🇪👮.

🇮🇪 Irish police officer Gillian O’Donoghue has been caught on camera furiously ranting against anti-Government protesters. She called them a “shower of wankers” who can “all go and fuck themselves” and added, “Fuck the protesters.” What a vile woman. MAKE HER FAMOUS!

@Saint_Zvx @CilComLFC Doesn't want to do her job? This behaviour runs much deeper than that. These women should have extensive psychological investigations before they are accepted for such a responsible job.

@andycoon46 @PeterPaulGuy Could you imagine if you're a patriot, with our flag flying outside your home and she and her colleagues come to arrest you, can you imagine the treatment you would get from her. Probably end up hospitalised. She should be saked. She is a danger to anyone who loves this country.

Oh don’t you worry @cooper_m The Irish people will never forget the role you’ve played in all of this You don’t get to jump sides all of a sudden and get to pretend you’re one of us now Because you’re not Main stream media can see who’s winning here and they think they can be our friend all of a sudden They have been the enemy for the last number of years and you won’t be allowed in now
