This is some real epic sh*t from Ankur Warikoo. So epic, that its worthy of immediate flushing. ➡️Whey protein for special populations - atheletes, sportspersons, bodybuilders, chronic liver and kidney disease ✅️ ➡️Omega 3 supplements is only useful in people with high triglycerides and for lowering high non-HDL✅️ #d1e844" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">ahajournals.org/doi/full/10.11… ➡️Vitamin D3 for those who are symptomatic and documented to have deficiency✅️ ➡️ Vitamin B is of many types. Documented and symptomatic supplementation in specific groups. Vit B12 in vegans/vegetarians, Thiamine in alcohol-related brain involvement (Wernickes Encephalopathy) etc✅️ ➡️Creatine is only for muscle bulking and improved endurance (as creatine is an energy source). A major side effect is weight gain because it absorbs water into tissue. It's not for all and is for serious/pro body builders only. ➡️ Ashwagandha & Curcumin straight to the 🗑. They serve no purpose in health promotion or disease prevention and will possibly help you get a new liver.💀 Getting a new organ because you were misinformed by some fitness bro who peddles health advise from personal anecdotes and is in reality a medical-science illiterate? That's some Epic Sh*t.

Hi Doc - would have loved for you to engage with me directly to dispel some of these myths, so as to help everyone. 1. These were not my recommendations instead a list of all that I consume. I am pretty sure my thread was in no way endorsing or glorifying the use of these supplements. 2. I work with a certified trainer and it’s possible he is mis-informed. I trust him but would love to understand your perspective for our benefit. Would you keen to help me understand your pov on some of the things you mentioned in your tweet?

@theliverdoc Alright. One of my clients understood from this tweet that “one should not take whey protein”. Hope you answer this so that i can send the link to her 😅

@theliverdoc Doc, I have to disagree a little bit here. Indians by and large tend to be protein deficient (even below the WHO rda of 0.8g/kg of bodyweight), so a scoop of whey could be one simple way to bridge this gap even for regular, even moderately active people.

@theliverdoc Hi @theliverdoc - First of all, great stuff on the whey protein review. Basis that I have started consuming whey protein (I workout everyday). In this tweet, I see WP is referred with Chronic Liver and Kidney Disease. So is it safe to consume WP?

"➡️Creatine is only for muscle bulking and improved endurance (as creatine is an energy source). A major side effect is weight gain because it absorbs water into tissue. It's not for all and is for serious/pro body builders only." This is not a "side effect". The weight is water not fat. It flushes out when you stop taking it. It's for everyone who lifts not just for "serious/pro body builders" (LOL) You would know this if you trained seriously in your life. You're a total joke spreading fear with your degree. Someone needs to file a complaint and take it away from you.

@theliverdoc I think. Triglycerides can be reduced with Roseday 10 daily at night. There is no need to take multiple vitamins, and away from alcohol relieves lots of problems. Vitamin D is needed if there is deficiency only.

@theliverdoc These types abound and flourish. I met one muzhu vattan who wanted to dispense vitamins (AtoZ) through vending machine drinks. Needless to say , he was not connected to healthcare !!!

@theliverdoc Creatine is for serious bodybuilders only? You sure you’re a doctor man? I’d suggest sticking to hepatology.
