If @dieworkwear -- or a British equivalent -- on the back of that great @PrivateWhiteVC thread, could maybe share a big list of British clothes manufacturers doing similarly great things that would be amazing. Thanks in advance.

I thought the economics of the thread was great. Also had some hints at the innovation part of the economics (Ventile a really important development in Manchester, like Super 100s in Huddersfield). A big part of the future of British manufacturing is probably at the high end.

@thomasforth @dieworkwear @PrivateWhiteVC Look into Patrick Grant - not just a Sewing Bee judge, but he has a long history of reviving British clothing businesses. He is behind Community Clothing, who make good quality staples in the UK using almost all UK materials.

@thomasforth @dieworkwear @PrivateWhiteVC I try to buy British made or at least British made up, & find it very difficult to identify similar manufacturers, so a curated list would be top Undoubtedly the clothes would be more expensive than imported but it would allow people to choose One I use: justtall.com

@thomasforth @dieworkwear @PrivateWhiteVC @CommClothing, Lanx shoes, wawwa clothing, eribe knitwear, Carrier clothing, Campbells of Beauly, Gloverall, John Smedley, Cordings, Sunspel (some lines in Portugal), Freight HHG, (vintage Jaeger, Aquascutum and M&S to name a few) Arguably men are slightly better catered for

@thomasforth @dieworkwear @PrivateWhiteVC Check out Jermyn Street & Piccadilly tailors in London. Most of the off the peg clothes are wool, UK made, and not overly expensive for good jackets, coats, trousers. They alter to fit. Don't leave it all to the tourists, or US Brands. 🇬🇧
