You have not experienced a close loss which, combined with your lack of empathy and poor theory of mind, shows. You are clueless.

Correct. Grief is a complex thing. It’s possible to approach it in the wrong way. People who are all sympathy fail to treat it that way, though (you are talking about sympathy and not empathy, btw). That’s how complex it is. You can be in grief and still hurt yourself because you are actually confused and wrong about how to process it. All forms of grief are not equal, or right. This approach is wrong, and the woman in question is hurting herself, and every simple fuck sympathetic response she gets his not helping her heal - it’s keeping her in hell.

I just had a mansplaining so epic it will never be topped. I just had a man ask me why I chose to be a widow. I said "I'm sorry, but that's not something you choose." He said "You just need to open your heart and let someone love you instead of choosing to stay a widow". I said "What do you think widow means exactly?" This man said "A widow is when a woman gives up on dating and stays alone for the rest of her life." I said "That is not what that means". HE SAID... "I have met a lot of widows in my life so I think I know what it means more than you". I am done. I quit. I surrender. I cannot with these men anymore.

Help. I’m in a relationship with someone who has ADHD and I’m honestly so confused. He disappears when things get overwhelming, like just stops replying for days. Then comes back saying he “shut down.” Is this actually an ADHD thing or am I being ignored?

@KarenHoward42 @Softnessa_ That's backed up by research now. Less intelligent people overwhelmingly tend to over estimate their own intelligence. They aren't intelligent enough to understand how intelligent they aren't.

She is doing a good and healthy thing that she has a moral responsibility to herself and everyone around her to pursue. People who dwell on their own tragedy for the rest of their lives are bad people.

@Chris8711 @jahnanair @Softnessa_ No. A widow is someone whose husband has died. That's it. Some will move on and love again. Others won't. It's less of a refusal, and more a case of everyone grieving differently. Some people move on quickly, some slowly, some never.

I’ve never met a right wing man who wasn’t desperately, perversely submissive. Desperate to obey, desperate to conform, desperate to please a man they considered superior to them, desperate to have their thoughts and views told to them by another guy.

@MadelaineLucyH What exactly is a right wing man in your book? I suggest you try finding a traditional conservative man. Then again you live in the UK, so that may be a near impossibility. Come to the US, you’ll find plenty with independent minds abd spirits.
